happy birthday…were in the middle of the usual late summer desert bbq … 'cept we decided to share this year… and let san fernando valley get the 120 degree this year but it was 95 at 8 am … and san bernardino’s on fire … which all things considered wouldn’t be much of a loss but then it was pointed out that they all move up here or back up here … and we have enough undesirables and deplorables of our own …

I hope you have a splendid birthday and you get to do only what you want to do and nothing you don’t want to have to do. I’m glad you were born too 🎶🎉🎂🧁🍰🎊🎵. I Hope one of those stores open has your favorite cake and you indulge, maybe twice! And then another piece just before you go to bed. We’d all love to _fete_ you if we were there. The good news is that I think one of my medications was helpful in allowing me to get to sleep. The bad news is that it was only temporary and, now that it’s worn off, I’m… not asleep.
The good news is that that one’s a “3x daily as needed” one and not like my (ineffective) sleeping pill, where taking an extra… well, it wouldn’t be following the rules, I guess. Not that doing it once would be the end of the world, but… especially when it comes to sleeping pills and anxiety meds and the like, I feel like it’s just a good policy to stay on the straight and narrow. Sooooo… does 2:30 AM count as Monday, then?
I’ll give it one episode of GBBO and if I’m not asleep or well on the way or at least feeling okay by then… well, it will be 3:00 and that’s reasonably Monday and it really is just Atarax (an antihistamine) and not like… Fentanyl or something. Hope to not see you again til the sun’s up.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 67 (BRRR!) Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 91 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. The big item on today’s agenda is to spiff da cave. Livin’ it up on Labo(u)r Day! Sup shall be beastloaf, steamed cabbage, mac &cheese, and cornbread. Fart fest to follow.
**MG** Happy Birthday! I’d sing real loud but I don’t know how to do that on this new fangled board. One day I will figure out stuff. Just not today. Anywho, whoop it up! Eat cake and ice cream! Whoop some more! Eat more cake and ice cream!
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Midget Day!!!
Yeah, I know, you weren’t crazy about your original nickname, but you’ll always be Midget to me! 😉 Every time I see one of those cars, I think about you. My daughter’s b-day was the 5th, so you’re practically twins, except for the wrong day and the wrong year and two different countries, but in my heart, you’re kinda, sorta my pseudo-daughter. 😃
Lemme tell ya, I know how to labor on Labor day! Apart from waking stupid early at 4, I did lie abed till a bit after 5. Since then (I’ve been up just over an hour) I’ve showered, scrubbed the shower doors and floor, dressed, unloaded the dishwasher, tended the critters, started the laundry, cleaned the cat box, and I’m just finishing breakfast. Shortly, I will depart to pick up Roxy.
Today is a trial run for the days I watch her. Daughter will text me when she leaves home and I’ll head down to meet her at her school. It’s about halfway between us, so we should arrive together. I’ll be bringing the kid back here while her mama shops and errands.
And I just got the word, so off I go.

🎈 🎉 HAPPY MG DAY! 🎈 🎉
It’s nice and cool out. I have my bedroom windows open to the delight of all the cats. The Boondock Kittens have discovered the joys of an open window. Wait until the end of the month when all the stinkbugs and ladybugs start coming in.
I have nothing planned for today. It’s a good feeling. Might take a walk later. Might play a game on the compy. Might plan an herb garden. Might not do any of that. It’s a holiday, who cares?

Due to the detour around the storm-damaged bridge, it took longer than I expected to get to Daughter’s school, even with no traffic. We’ll figure out the timing eventually.
Second load on the line, third in the washer. Hall bathroom will be cleaned today now that all the kids’ stuff is out of there. Plus it’ll be prepped for the painter.
I decided to try CVS’ free delivery. I’ve got 3 prescriptions to pick up and they’ll deliver them on Weds. Anything to avoid the detour to get to Leonardtown! 😃

Another pretty day here. Supposed to be the last one for a while I heard.
Nice morning at the dog park. I wasn’t sure we would go but Ripple seemed up to it.
Most of the regulars didn’t show up, but as it is with holidays, new people came so the dogs got to run around for a bit.
Nasty dog fight up in the corner of the park. Somebody got bit.
Both of those dogs gave me that feeling of maybe I should leave now.
Going to be a somewhat busy day.
Nothing fun though.
