I heard about this a few days ago. Was, unfortunately. He died when his plane caught fire in the early 80’s. He was a Canadian folk singer from the Maritimes (east coast) with an amazing voice. He always had a fairly dedicated following, at least in Canada, but his popularity seems to have grown recently. A great singer and song writer. I never heard him in person, but had the privilege of meeting his brother Garnet at a house party a few years ago and hearing him sing some of Stan’s songs.
