Caryn the Engineer from Torchlight 2 vs. “Mr. Manager” of Derry City FC in Football Manager 2013. (Apparently the latest versions of FM are kind of buggy, which is why I’ve stuck to the old one.) Mr. Manager uses his shouts, the only weapon he has other than his suit and tie. Caryn bops him on the head with a two-handed greathammer. Winner, Caryn. And a darn shame too, Derry City was top of the league at the time.

Curly Jill (my Dragon Age character) would trounce Pewtypoke (my Destiny character) now that she has the deflect projectiles skill as a Knight-Enchanter. Otherwise, she wouldn’t last long against rocket launchers and grenades. It would be a much better match-up than my 3rd-last played game though, Ellie (Last of Us) drew deadly pulse rifle fire when her arrow merely bounced off of Pewtypoke’s legendary armor.

Montezuma vs. Napoleon.

If the fight is within the context of the game, then probably Napoleon, because of the culture bonus.

If we just toss the two of them into a 10x10 pit and then dump in some big sticks, I don’t think the ancien regime is going to be much use to a cavalryman facing off with an Aztec king.

My dwarf with high level Mortar Grenades from _Sacred_ vs. my newbie crafter from _Eternal Lands_. The crafter still has trouble killing small spiders, so it is no contest really.

Rico from **Just Cause 2** : Grappling hook gun-thingy, many pistols, shotguns and automatic weapons, can drive any vehicle and heft a mini-gun.

Alex Mercer from **Prototype** : Near-indestructible being who can ingest an entire person to regain his health while taking on their form, skills and memories; leap five stories straight up and wallrun without stopping, survive a drop from a skyscraper with no harm and throw cars at helicopters with excellent precision, and that’s all just when you _start_ the game.

Alex walks away with a cool leather vest and the ability to speak Spanish.

Now, if I were playing more **Spore** : well, eventually you can terraform a planet, so that might kill Alex.

It would be interesting to see the characters from Prototype and any of the folks from Infamous fight.

My most recent matchup would be Death from Darksiders II, vs. the 3 characters from Trine 2.

Pretty sure Death wins this one even though he’s outnumbered.

This would pit my favorite character from Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer, which is basically a geth prime, against my six-person elite squad from XCOM. I think the geth prime could take them all down. Throw the flamethrower turret at the group, use the Black Widow to pick off the snipers, then advance and use the energy-draining, shield-replenishing heavy melee to take down the remaining squad members one by one. The XCOM squad’s only hope would be to hit the geth prime hard and fast with everything they’ve got. But, the geth has such a ridiculous amount of health I’m not sure that would work.

Scraptacular, my Devices/Martial Arts superhero from DC Universe Online, vs. Captain Morgan of the Terran Scout Ship Destiny (Infinite Space III: Sea of Stars).

Depends on where the fight is - if it’s in space, the spaceship wins, because Scraps can’t breathe vacuum. If it’s inside the ship, I think my money’s on the guy with the electric lariat and invisibility powers.

The Inquisitor (_Dragon Age Inquisition_) vs. Kinzie Kensington (_Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell_)

Tough call. The elven, knight-enchanter inquisitor has the most overpowered ability set in her world, making her damn near invulnerable, particularly to projectiles. Kinzie (I favored her over Gat when I played) is armed with a ridiculous arsenal of weapons and a variety of Hell themed superpowers. My money’s on Kinzie if she has her superpowers, but if she’s limited to guns outside of Hell the balance shifts to the Inquisitor.

Erik Bloodaxe from Skyrim (very late game) vs generic early-mid game Oblivion character I played while I shopped for a used Extreme edition Skyrim for Xbox last fall. Erik’s got tweaked out armor and weapons ,and is maxed out in all his main hand to hand skills, along with almost maxed magic skills.

Did you ever see Billy Madison? Where Adam Sandler played dodgeball with I think first graders? It wouldn’t be that close. Probably more like the animated short I once saw “Bambi Versus Godzilla.”

Two new ones: Mickey Mouse from _Epic Mickey_ and a Boss from\* Saints Row the Third\*. Unless the Boss is vulnerable to Mickey’s thinner or paint attacks, I don’t think Mickey stands a chance. Mickey’s spin attack, in and of itself, doesn’t even cause damage.

I am one of those rather lame, plodding gamers, and one of my mild lamenesses is that I tend to build and play the same characters across games.

My main in City of Heroes was a lightly built tanker. The next equivalent is my Borderlands/B2 character, a Soldier in the first one, the Commando in the second. I set up colors, style etc. to mimic my CoH main. Since the first one had Rikti technology armor and powers, I think he’d kick ‘Roland’/‘Axton’ 's ass… but not too easily.

Depending on how you define “characters” and “games” it would be either Strong Bad vs. May of May and the Secret of Dragonville (a poorly written Professor Layton rippoff) or Strong Bad vs. “Douchebag” in the South Park games.

I’m gonna guess May would beat Strong Bad. She wouldn’t fight, but neither would he. It’s just that she is good at logic puzzles and is a girl, so I figure she’d completely flabbergast SB.

Strong Bad vs Douchebag is more interesting. Douchebag is the only fighter, but his fights are basically pretend, which means Strong Bad can also use his imaginary stuff, which means he gets to bring in Trogdor and other imaginary creatures. Still Douchebag has fought some pretty strong stuff, including a bunch of aliens, so I don’t know if Trogdor is a match. Still, Douchebag always has a real other person with him, and I’m not sure how well he’d do on his own.

If Douchebag won, it would be because he was willing to go further and actually attact Strong Bad. Sure, it’s pretend, but they do actually hurt each other. I think Strong Bad would run off, though.

My two combatants would be the Orks out of WH40k appearing in Dawn of War II and a level seven Qunari warrior out of Dragon Age: Inquisition\* and friends with most of his points spent in two handed weapons.

It breaks down like this; If the Qunari warrior is alone then he is surrounded by a truck borne army appearing out of no where and is basically slaughtered. The warboss alone might take him.

If he gets a party (my last party was an experimental one consisting entirely of warriors) then they put up more of a fight, but eventually the Orks win it out having greater mobility and equal ferocity in hand to hand as well as ranged firepower. The roleplayers would also have to take out the Ork camp to technically win, and that is defended with heavy machine guns and easy reinforcements. No win there.

Edit for clarity\*

Hm! Interesting fight.

On one side you have Nikandreos from Apotheon. He is a Greek warrior trained in the use of many different weapons and armor. He can fight from a distance and is quite agile.

On the other side you have Scoop from Awesomenauts. He is a paladin who is made from either ice cream or gelatin. I’m not entirely sure. He has a sword and a magical hammer.

I think I have to give it to Scoop because he has awesome quips, whereas Nikandreos doesn’t seem to talk.

My 24th level Inquisitor Rogue vs. my current Champion of Kirkwall playthrough as an asshole warrior. I don’t think Hawke will ever get enough XP to be a match for the Inquisitor. He hardly ever leaves Kirkwall, for starters. He doesn’t have a fade-based AoE attack, nor is he equipped with weapons and armor made from the corpses of ten dragons he’s killed, including a bow specifically designed to take tanks down quickly.

Now, if it came to my Inquisitor vs. my Dragonborn, it’s really too bad for her worship. Dovakihn is also wearing dragon ass head-to-toe and can one-shot nearly everything in sight from stealth with a dragonbone bow that paralyzes and sets on fire. You don’t have to be in her way, you just have to be in her sight and probably a bandit – and those two groups overlap almost entirely.

Both characters are from the Game of Thrones mod for Crusader Kings 2 – Daenerys Targaryen and some old Stark king (Torrhen Stark, aka “The King who Knelt”). If she gets her dragons, Dany wins easy – otherwise, the Stark King wins easy with his big sword.
