They expect President Trump will appoint a person sympathetic to their cause, I imagine. Or, even if Hillary is elected President, the Senate would never approve a pro-choice justice. I mean, McConnell has already said they won’t approve a nominee who isn’t supported by the NRA, so that’s not much of a stretch. ---

BTW Governor Mary Fallin has vetoed the Oklahoma bill based, in brief, on that it’s unenforceable as written and it would not stand a chance of even making it to a higher court. ---

It’s recognizably human, with differentiated organs. No need to exaggerate the parameters. The issue is whether there is a functioning brain/nervous system at that stage, and there isn’t. Socialism has nothing to do with abortion, one way or the other. There are socialist and communist governments that are pro-choice, pro-life, and everything in between. Abortion was/is illegal under Stalin, and more recently under Daniel Ortega and the socialists in Venezuela. For what it’s worth, I’m mostly on the communist side of the spectrum, and I’m pro-life except for threats to the health of the mother, irrespective of the stage of pregnancy). ---

Under Victorian law you can choose to abort up to 24 weeks though it is more difficult and costly after 16 weeks. After 24 weeks two doctors must agree that it is appropriate under the circumstances and is in fact quite rare and usually only done in the case of something very wrong with the foetus. Some dingbats are trying to make that even more difficult even though it really is not an issue in that it is done so rarely more protections are unlikely to change the figures.
