# The lightsaber battles in all Star Wars films, ranked (at least, the ones I can remember)

Right, even the two of them together were far outclassed by Ray Park. So once one went down, the other one should have been extra-super-outclassed by him, and should also have gone down very quickly thereafter.

One exception was towards the beginning of _The Count of Monte Cristo_. The noble villain has challenged some commoner to a duel. They draw, and about half a second later, the villain has skewered his opponent, who never got a chance to even take a swing.

Are you talking about [this one](https://youtu.be/RATMJ8JH1qo)? Yep, great choreography, and some wonderful moves I wish they’d integrate into a big screen lightsaber fight sometime.

I always put this in the same category as the ‘villain monologue’ - Maul knew he could take Kenobi, so he did the other classic villain error - toying with him, leading to a lucky, fatal blow.

In a crowded theater full of Star Wars fans, I was totally surprised when Yoda got the lightsaber. They way he used the force to pull the lightsaber off his belt, the fanboys cheering, the started zipping around like the true Jedi master… I was like “they pulled it off, that was awesome!”
But it does look hilarious when you watch it a second time.
Is there a phenomenon/trope for that? That a scene looks awesome the first time, but is not meant for repeat viewings/analysis?
