The latest reason is that [Cain says](http://motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2011/11/judy-woodruff-lets-herman-cain-hook) the People’s Republic of China has “indicated that they’re trying to develop nuclear capability.” (Shame on Judy Woodruff for not pointing out that he’s [just a wee bit behind the times](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/596_%28nuclear_test%29).) Not that I like the guy - but I’m pretty sure(from the rest of the interview) that he meant that China was developing nuclear powered submarines. He said develop nuclear capabilities - not create nuclear weapons. ---

I can chalk that one up to a slip of the tongue. Sort of along the lines of Obama’s famous “57 states” slip. The abortion thing was the craziest, IMO. Crazy in a “not being able to communicate properly” sense. It should be illegal, but it’s up to the family. And he was given multiple times to explain it, only to confuse the listener even more. ---

He was CEO of Godfather’s Pizza. Godfather’s pizza does and always has sucked. They’ve been around since the 80s yet were always content to be a sub-par pizza chain that never grew or expanded but simply were content with exsisting as-is. Under Cain there was no massive expansion, no growth, no nothing. That should be his motto for his campaign: I’d be content to keep the U.S. as-is. ---

His 9-9-9 plan ironically enough doesn’t just completely slash taxes on the rich, but it also raises taxes on the poor. Depressingly republican, really. ---

That would be true, if he had a prayer of getting it through Congress. But since he doesn’t, and even he isn’t crazy enough to think he does, same ol’ same ol’. ---

I think Cain’s got too many negatives to really have a shot at the nomination. Yes, he’s flouting conventional wisdom already by his popularity in the polls, but I just can’t see that continuing. 1. He’s never run a successful campaign 2. He was a lobbyist against causes like banning smoking in restaurants, and lowering the DWI tolerance 3. He’s being accused of sexual harassment, and is giving conflicting explanations 4. He might have stolen his 9-9-9 plan from SimCity 5. Uz-beki-beki-beki-stan. He actually brags of his ignorance. I have to believe that in a few months he’s going to be a footnote. ---

OK, this may be old news to most of y’all, but: Cain said that, if a Constitutional amendment to ban abortion came to his desk, he’d [sign it.](http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2011/10/cain-ill-sign-an-anti-abortion-amendment-note-presidents-dont-do-that.php) That signature might be worth something on eBay, but it wouldn’t have any other effect, since the President does not in fact play any role in Constitutional amendments… perhaps he should take a civics class.
