Hmm. According to the link in my previous post, there’s been an argument regarding whether it is a drama with some comic moments or a comedy with some dramatic moments. I can see the argument for both. (Yes, hopefully one thing we can all agree on is it’s not a musical.) ---

It sort of falls between the two. We should have a term for that. “Tragicomedy” won’t do, because there’s no real tragedy in this story. (Sure, it’s tragic he got left behind, but that’s stretching it.) ---

Well, the story arc is very dramatic so you can’t really say this is a comedy, though it does have a lot of comic moments and Watney has a huge sense of humor. Kind of like actual real life. ---
