Nikki Haley addressed the UN Security Council yesterday and explained our case with regard to Syria using chemical weapons and Russia providing cover for them.
I wondered too about Syria actually using those weapons at that time, but it seems doing so made the difference between an enemy surrendering with conditions and an enemy grabbing its stuff and fleeing the area. After the embattled US President signaled his intent to disengage. None of this is improbable.

The attack’ll be a lot less “unofficial.” The JSOC base did call up the Russians on a deconfliction line pre-strike, and asked if the more-or-less motor-rifle regiment rolling towards the Euphrates was anyone the Russians knew. After getting told, “Nope,” hilarity ensued.
Oh, and the top cover, not being stealthy, will get noticed by one or another AWACS the US has in the area. After getting noticed, and the Russians being told that said top cover is moving towards a side of the map it’s not supposed to be on, and still not turning away, then my guess is that it’ll get swatted by some form of F-22/F-35/PAC-3 guided in by said AWACS.
Then we’ll really have problems.
This is the Syrians we’re talking about here. Over the years, they’ve claimed to have shot down roughly twice as many Israeli aircraft as Israel has ever fielded.

I suspect this has got nothing to do with Trump. I suspect that the orange one was hiding in his closet, filling his adult diaper and licking his bone spurs while the professionals who actually know all about the Syrian regime and its savagery actually took control and convinced him that a direct response was required.

It’s been reported Trump constantly watches the news. He’s seen the same heart breaking photos of the victims. The children suffering are very hard to see.
No one could not be outraged and want to do something to end this crime. The US and other countries had to at least knock out the known weapons plant and distribution.
