Miss Japan could sword-fight with me in the garden snow any day. People in Tanzania seem really good at LARPing. Miss Poland was my favorite in terms of looks and elegance. Miss America was on theme, perhaps overly so. Indeed Belgium was a disappointment. The only true WTF costume I saw was Miss Korea. Seriously, is there something I’m missing? ---

I actually think Miss Venezuela – the green bat wings thing – is my favorite. Miss Ireland – WTH? I would have guessed somewhere in Eastern Europe before Ireland. Some of these outfits don’t really show off the girl much. Miss Georgia? She’s wearing a big nightgown – she’s in there somewhere! And Miss Finland is positively _tasteful_ – get her off the stage! ---

Miss Russia is wearing a tablecloth. I hope Miss Czech Republic smacked somebody around for sending her out in that… thing. Spain? Germany? You’re not trying hard enough. Go back and do it again. ---

Miss Venezuela is scary. Miss Russia looks like a chandelier. Miss Canada’s costume is kind of disappointing. I would have added more colours. ---

What do I not know about Ukranian culture that makes a miniskirt made of fabric apples their national costume? Miss Belgium made me think of the theme costume portion of the pageant movie, _Drop Dead Gorgeous_, with the one awkward girl mumbling “umm, I guess I didn’t understand the assignment.” ---
