Good morning everyone. I’ve been up for quite some time. I’m trying to get myself motivated to hop in the shower. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to get my hair done today. I’m seriously overdue for a color job and cut. Still nothing of note going on, just the same ol’, same ol’. Today is my RDO, so you’d think I’d put it to good use to get stuff done. I guess I should finish my coffee and get going. ---

Afternoon, everybody. I was actually a Good Girl this morning and got up and worked before reading the Dope – I had to get a transcript done, and was afraid if I stopped by here it might be far too long before I left. As is usually the case. ☹ (That “ugliest building in the world” thread has some links that are _superb_ time-wasters!) Anyway, I finished the transcript, then ran to the drugstore to pick up a scrip, and am now back home looking out my window at the cold, grey gloom. It’s kinda half-heartedly spitting freezing rain, and it’s just plain _yucky_. A good day to hibernate and drink hot chocolate. Which, thanks to my foresight last weekend, I have a-plenty now! Good luck with the Trespassing Lumberjacks\*, **Bobbio**! That’s really annoying the way they think that just cause they’re out in the country, they can do whatever they want. Like property owners cease caring just because they’re not within city limits. ☹ Anyway, I know you’ll give 'em hell! 😃 **HRH** just gets cuter by the day, **Dotty**! I know there were other things I was going to say, but the ol’ mind is blank right now. So I shall go back to my next job, due Monday, but which is one of my favorites – interesting subject, great sound quality, and, most importantly, even though it’s a board meeting with 11 people involved, they always, _always_ take turns speaking. Sometimes it’s the small things that mean the most! \*_Dare I say it? Band name!_ ---

Because I said so!!! Incidentally, I’m home early due to a bit of a 'tude. We had a staff meeting/lunch today, and once it was over, I decided I didn’t want to do anything else. So I went and told the boss I was leaving, and found out I’d be out the door about 2 minutes ahead of him! Great minds and all that! 😃 Speaking of work, we have an electronic bulletin board where folks post stuff for sale (like the gazillion Girl Scout Cookie posts) or stuff wanted or requests for doctor recommendations - miscellany like that. Yesterday, I saw one unlike any I’d ever seen before: _Wanted - Kidney donor._ :eek: A guy was posting it for a friend who is in need of a kidney transplant. He’s not compatible, so he’s asking if anyone else would be interested. That seems just a tad out of place, but I don’t think I have a major problem with it. Still, it’s weird snuggled in there between the notice for free baby formula coupons and the stereo for sale. Glad it’s Firday. 'nuff said. ---

I’ve stopped off at home for a few minutes and my dad has the TV on REALLY REALLY LOUD! I think I’ll be headed to TVLand very soon. My mom is still in the hospital and will be transported to a rehab hospital tomorrow because she is unable to find her balance when they try to make her use the walker. ☹ ---

I’ve had to cancel my hair appointment. As I was getting ready to leave, I noticed my son’s eyes were wet. I asked him if he was crying, and he pulled out a letter from his school. It turns out one of his friends died last night. To make matters worse (as if they could be), he committed suicide. This boy was in ninth grade, the same as my son. I feel so helpless in the face of my son’s pain, but all I can do is be there for him. My son and this young man were fairly good friends all through seventh and eighth grade, but as my son put it, he had “started down a bad path” this last year. I asked him what he meant by that, he told me that he knew this boy had started smoking weed. Now, I, as well as the rest of you, know that weed in and of itself, does not make people want to commit suicide. There’s something else going on. I don’t know, maybe he was doing other stuff besides weed. At any rate, as sad as my son is, I can’t leave him here alone. I didn’t know this boy, but I just can’t imagine the pain his poor parents must be feeling. ☹ Wow, I’m getting all choked up as I write this. I have to quit for now. ---
