The most boring cable channel, U.S. and elsewhere ...

Even more so than Bloomberg?

I discovered that my cable system has not one, but two government channels – one for Orange County (Florida, not California), and the other for the City of Ocoee. Being an urban planner, I can actually tolerate televised Planning Commission meetings. The Ocoee channel, though – really bad video, really bad audio, really bad chyron.

I had two jobs where my meetings were televised. Once, I had someone recognize me when I was out at the mall. Yup, they remembered me from Aurora Channel 3.

Buffalo, New York has the worst public access channel of 'em all – BCAM. About 80% of the programming consists of storefront church services. There’s also several different comic book/anime shows featuring doughy virgins holding forth on manga, and rebroadcasts of the NASA channel. A bright point, though – wonderfully bad performance ahhht, and lots of it!

Live near an area with a NASA facility or a large population working in aerospace, and you’ll find that the NASA Channel has a HUGE following.

Hey! The History Channel rocks!

Public schools channel, getting to see what is for lunch, what day and time the Friday varsity basketball games are (same every week). It’s a lame channel.
