Having been on this messageboard for a few years now, certain patterns become evident. One such pattern is that certain posters, for whatever reason, post in decidedly incomprehensible styles. This thread is just for shits and giggles but I thought a list of the most word-salad-y posters might be entertaining. I’ll get the list started with my top 3 confusing Dopers… 1. **Leo Bloom**. I doubt anyone is really surprised at the number one confusing poster. Time after time after time, he generates posts that leave the rest of us simply mystified. In an apparent effort to sound more verbose and stylish in his posts, he has achieved the total opposite. 2. **Watchwolf49**. This guy almost dethroned Leo for the number one spot. I _never_ know exactly what this guy is trying to communicate. The best I can do is recognize some vague, inchoate sarcasm in the way he writes. As to what the subject of that sarcasm is, however, is wholly unknown. 3. **Gigobuster**. I was torn as to whether I should include **Gigo** in this list because I really like him and agree with most of what he says. _When_ I know what the fuck he’s saying. Which is just about never. It is obvious to me that English is not his native tongue. So for that I applaud him. It doesn’t change the fact that I never know what he’s saying. ---

That’s ok, more than once I have admitted that my grammar is a crime against nature. (And yes, English is my second language). On this I have only to say a mild complain to you: one of the reasons I post here was because I expected a lot of punches if I made a mistake. Unfortunately many do not complain and so I’m not progressing as I would like. Of course, it was bound to happen that I would be pitted for this, and you are just about one of the first ones to pit me, AFAIK in just about one other occasion I was also put on a list among others too but it turned very quickly into a reverse pit for the OP then. Leo is one of the board members that I’d most like to meet, because I honestly have _no_ idea what to expect. I think he probably has some interesting things to say, but it’s such a struggle. I get the idea that he takes pride in his writing style. It’s unfortunate that he seems so _utterly_ lacking in insight into how incoherent it is. He gets very snippy when it’s pointed out. Anwyway, what on earth is “see query” supposed to mean? ---

That’s not to say it’s not nonsense. But he communicates that nonsense rather clearly. I think people just try to look for another meaning other than the literal one, and get confused. ---
