You haven’t truly seen undecipherable until you mix together English as a second language, apple auto correct, and alcoholism. OMG! I had this friend who used to message me all the time when they were drunk, and those messages were truly impossible to understand. Yet hilarious. Have never laughed so much in my life. In this forum, I think most of the time, misunderstandings occur because of mismatched worldviews or because people sometimes post using their own unique cultural speak, forgetting or not realizing that the words they use automatically aren’t well known outside their specialty. Like the pi guy. Although, I don’t understand science, so it might have been nonsense all the way through. But I’d assume that on a forum filled with passionate science and math geeks, he might make more sense. (If what he said had any actual merit, that is.) But that’s also the best thing about the SDMB. I come here to learn about other people and how they see the world. The poster who was obsessed about waiters filling her water glass without asking for permission was super interesting and fun to hear from. Although, it does annoy me muchly, when people write in huge block paragraphs with no spaces in between. It’s very hard and frustrating to read those posts and I sometimes skip them. And of course, tons of grammar and spelling mistakes, or unique choices can be annoying to try and parse through, as well. But mostly, I love reading everyone’s posts, and I learn a lot. Sorry this isn’t a more pitlike response. I haven’t really developed the ability to insult people yet, and I don’t believe in arguing, which is why I don’t post a lot. ---

It’s my recollection that he ( **justhink** ) was not only banned for trolling, but that there was at least some suspicion that he used a text generator to produce some of his posts. ---
