> I’m pick the unfortunate Mr Kinney from the first _Robocop_ film. According to the IMDB his one line of dialogue was “help me!”, and he only appears in one scene, where he is blown to shreds by a malfunctioning ED-209 robot. That, and the failed Robocop prototypes from _Robocop II_, which were stop-motion effects kitbashed as a throwaway gag. And yet they were surprisingly grim.

I’ve always liked the “I’ll buy that for a dollar!” guy from **Robocop**.

There is a scene in “Birth of a Nation” where one of the women, probably Lillian Gish,is trying to get “The Great Heart” (Abraham Lincoln) to issue an order to prevent the wounded southern “Little Colonel” from being shot. In the hospital a sentry memorably ogles her. IMDB lists the actor as William Freeman, who was in a total of four movies.

That honking guy on the freeway in [Clear and Present Danger](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKOtvcIssZk).
It’s not mentioned explicitly, and it’s a little unclear in the film—he might have just been trying to pass—but it certainly _looks_ like he’s trying to warn Cathy and put himself between them and Miller’s van.

I always liked that bit—just some no-name guy, we never even see their face, just trying to do the right thing on the spot.
Character not important to a plot? Okay, he’s got more than one line, but they could have cut the whole scene. He stole the movie.

Glengary Glen Ross. The guy who says “Coffee is for closers.”

Umm no..That (lengthy) scene makes the entire movie and comes nowhere close to fitting the OP’s question.

Oh, and Marshall MacLuhan in **Annie Hall**!

It came on some cable channel tonight so I watched that scene carefully. The boy seen on camera appears to be doing some mighty fancy fretwork if he’s not actually playing.

According to IMDB and Wikipedia there is a professional banjo player sitting behind the boy reaching his arms around [“helping hands”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMq4Ypstc8Y) style.
