I’m willing to bet those Librarian TV movies (with Noah Wyle) are probably better as well.
Yeah, National Treasure was good, stupid fun. And they’re making a sequel!
One Minute Review of the movie (someone played it one Saturday when I was at school doing homework):
- Sophie: Hi, you can tell I’m the main character because I’m hot and the only one with an accent.
- Police: Hi, we’re dumb and incompetant! Insert joke about France here!
- Mr. Plot Exposition, I mean Teabing: The Evil Church created an Evil Conspiracy to hide the Truth so they could be Evil! Did I mention that they were Evil?
That one scene where Sophie drives backwards to evade the police was cool. And I thought Silas was hot.
Otherwise, yeah, boring film full of dull rants based on questionable facts. Whatever other evils the Church has committed (and yes, there have been plenty), Teabing seems to be of the belief that the Church is the only organized evil in the world, as if there weren’t plenty of atrocities done in the name of other gods or even atheism…
