Okay, I’ve had visitors at my house for a week and I haven’t been able to post. Lucky for them, they were around to witness the joy (the kind you can’t buy in a store) that comes with a White Elephant box from **Shayna**! Here’s what I got: [li]A little bitty Barbie Doll keychain (arms and legs really move!)[/li][li]A neat little radio, with batteries included[/li][li]Not 1 or 2, but _3_ lovely baskets (one is read and shaped like a duck; it’s neeeeat.)[/li][li]Sporks! And lots of 'em! Okay 3 sporks, and some other very handy and practical sets of plasticware - all still wrapped in plastic and including a napkin in some cases.[/li][li]A lovely white ceramic potpourri burner[/li][li]A calculator[/li][li]A sturdy blue GTE tote bag[/li][li]A pink silverware drawer organizer[/li][li]2 Matthew Lesko books[/li][li]A Christmas Mug with Santa on it[/li][li]People Magazine’s Celebrity Almanac for 1997[/li][li]A travel kit[/li] And my favorite… [li]A saucey little “Intimate Inquiry” for him/her to be filled out and exchanged for super big fun. I’m about to find out a WHOLE bunch about Mr. Killdare.[/li] I don’t think I’ve forgotten anything… Thanks so much **Shayna**! I don’t know how I functioned all this time without my new loot. ---

You should’ve seen the look on the lady’s face at the post office when she asked if I wanted insurance and I said, “No thanks, it’s just a box of crap.” Hehe I’m glad you liked your stuff, though! (Did you get the radio to work?) And only because the box was so full of those nasty little peanuts that you might’ve missed some of the smaller items, in the box was also some luggage tags; a little dollhouse furniture thingie; a deck of cards with “52 Ways to Simplify Your Life”; a small, travel-sized sewing kit; a makeup case that had a travel toothbrush, b/c pill timer & a bar of soap in it and 5 yards of wallpaper border. If you haven’t thrown the box away yet and didn’t find those things in it, you might want to dig around for the rest of your treasures (or not - LOL). * * * Jeg elsker dig, Thomas ---

Well, look at that. I didn’t empty the box, I just kept digging around in there until I was sure I had everything. But I missed the sewing kit, the wallpaper border, the deck of cards, and the luggage tags! Thanks again! ---

I got my elephant! Thank you **Elenfair**!!! 😃 I actually got my elephant on September 12, but never posted about it. Sorry! I got so many wonderful things. 🙂 [ul] [li]A little weaved baskety thingy. I think it has a picture of a dog on it. Maybe it’s a bird…I’m not sure. I think I may start using this as my lunch bag. Hee![/li][li]A plastic container of a bright green, booger-like substance. I’m scared to open it.[/li][li]A ‘Bravo Canada’ pin. A nice addition to my lunch bag, I think.[/li][li]Three pieces of a little tiny trainset (complete with itty-bitty mountains and an eensy-weensy cactus!) that don’t fit together.[/li][li]A copycard from Universite d’Ottowa.[/li][li]Some Canadian ‘Tire Money’, whatever that is…wacky Canadians. ;)[/li][li]Some soap from the Chateau De Gissac (you should hear me pronounce that with my Brooklyn accent) :)[/li][li]A lovely ‘Don’t Worry, Be Happy’ watch.[/li][li]A black-handled silver thingy. My husband says it’s a wrench, but I don’t believe it.[/li][li]A salt and pepper shaker set that looks like a little toaster. The salt and pepper go in the little ‘bread slices’ and the holder is the toaster. I love it![/li][li]An instruction book for QuickLink.[/li][li]A bag of pretty blue marbles and one big ugly brown one.[/li][li]A bag of fake Canadian money.[/li][li]A subscription card to MacAddict.[/li][li]And last, but not least, a wonderful and witty note from Elenfair herself.[/li][/ul] Thank you, it really made my day. This White Elephant business has changed the way I look at the world. I was digging through my closet for something I ran across an unused, still-in-the-wrapper catheter bag from when I had my little c-section bladder-tear incident. It’s clearly marked “URINE BAG” and while I’d normally just throw it out (and good riddance) I immediately thought “Say…wouldn’t this make a good white elephant thing?” _Shudder_ ---
