Right.

[Disco lyrics are always bland and the beat is repetitive](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBR2G-iI3-I) [(and rock lyrics most certainly _never_ are)](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yOayjt2tGs).

And rock instrumentals are always [a bad thing](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bpS-cOBK6Q).

Got it.

Really? That’s your argument? “I found one disco song with a lyric that isn’t about dancing (but which even so still has that boringly repetitive disco beat), and I found one rock song that has a repetitive chorus (even if the rest of the song features non-repetitive lyrics)”?

That’s all you’ve got?

Hardly.

Good disco songs: [“Knock On Wood”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ztZ7WFo3nw), [“Night Fever”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ihs-vT9T3Q), [“Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yURRmWtbTbo&feature=avmsc2), [“September”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2S8ZrQG0y6g), and [“Don’t Leave Me This Way”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elIVoXUJ4V4) (among many others).

Crap rock songs: [“In a Gadda Da Vida”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGmkM4v9AaY), [“The Living Years”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGDA0Hecw1k), [“Tones Of Home”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NISeJCeKUgs), [“Walk On the Ocean”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcHB060NKYo), [“The Loco-Motion”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxyU4W8iyeI), ["Point Of Know Return’](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-R8gHj_7v8). (Really, I could go on. And on. And on, even.)

Dude, I’ll concede the point if you’ll promise to stop dredging up horrible videos from the disco era. 😛

And I’ll renew my assumption that thinly-veiled (or maybe not-so-thinly-veiled) homophobia and racism has an awful lot to do with knee-jerk, out-of-hand dismissal of disco (and dance music in general). _Dude_. 😃

Q.E.D.

One could argue there is still good disco music being created today:

[![](https://img.youtube.com/vi/mPxDfGLbP4E/maxresdefault.jpg "Exodar Disco") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPxDfGLbP4E)

(Okay, you need to have played WoW to fully appreciate it, but the song is still awesome)
