Spent 2003 living in Philly. It was so royally weird to go to Berlin and Hannover and speak English instead of German! Spanish settlers seem to have been a tad more original than those from England and Germany (only 4 Barcelonas in the whole world and 3 Pamplonas; one Cartagena in Spain which was originally New Carthage 😛 and one Cartagena de Indias in Colombia) - but still, homesickness sure was a factor when naming towns. ---

I’m thinking that Ronald MacDonald and the Hamburglar are different aspects of the Norse god Loki. So that if Ronald and Baldur fought, I think that Baldur would win because not all of Loki’s being would be present in the fight, that he’d be weaker. I’m sure there’s a Ph. D. thesis out there somewhere covering this. ---

After the discussion of porridge, it seemed like fate that Alton Brown was talking about oatmeal on Good Eats last night. So I went to the store and bought me some pin-head oats. I’d never had them before. I cooked them overnight in the crock pot. It was a yummy breakfast. I now have a way to have a healthy breakfast that’s ready when I get up. ---

**dangergene** wants 2 _husbands_? Interesting. **Homebrew** I watched Alton last night too. I said to myself, “Hey! A MMP topic!” I still don’t want any though. Oatmeal is ick. Except in things. Like meatloaf and burgers and oatmeal cookies. If I were to think of ACBG as a husband, he’d be Absolutely Klutzy But Makes Good Cheesecakes Husband. He cannot handle tools of any kind. I swear scissors baffle the man. But he’s cute and makes good cheesecake and is fun for snugglin’ purposes so that all makes up for the klutziness. He spent the night at my house last night. We were protecting each other from thunderstorms. Twixt the tornado warning and all the thunderstorms yesterday was quite adventuous. I stopped on the way home yesterday and got us a Moma’s UBake Pizza. That’s what the place is called. You call em up and tell em what kind of pizza you want and it’s all ready except for the bakin’ part when you pick it up. Course they’ll bake em too. Even deliver. I still like to pick up the unbaked pizza and go home and bake it. MMMMMMM… hot, fresh pizza right outta the oven. And beer. The dinner of champions! ---

Okay, **swampy**. :dubious: Did you send those tornado watches down here because you’re a sharing person or sumpin? Thanks…NOT! 😉 Yesterday we set a record. We had a high of 87 degrees. It was lovely…up until Mr. Anachi tried to turn on the AC. ☹ No worky no good. Today BarbeeDoll[sup]TM[/sup] and I are are going out to “Useless” to see the Grampuses. They are still experiencing car trouble. Neither one should be drivin’ anyhoo. I would like a “Goes-To-The-Movies” husband and a “Goes-On-Vacation-To-The-Beach” husband. Those are two things Mr. Anachi doesn’t like to do. I’ll have to think on whether I need any others. Tupug ---

Yay! I just re-subscribed, so all y’all are just going to have to put up with me for another year. I know how excited you must be. I was looking at myself in the mirror here at work, and I realized that it’s not that this skirt is so short (ok, it’s not long, but it’s not indecent) it’s that this sweater is so long (it’s got a loose weave that “grows” as you wear it) that you really only see three or four inches of the skirt. If I were really trampy, I could almost wear the sweater without the skirt. But I wouldn’t, because then I’d just look like I forgot my pants. People have doubts about my sanity as it is; going pants-less isn’t going to help. (And because I’ve been watching the BBC: \ I said “pants”! \) No thunderstorms here, only rain. No husbands, either, extraneous or otherwise. Actually, that’s not true, I have my sister’s husband. Ok, that sounded weird, but you know what I mean. He’s around. Yay, \*\*Dangergene \*\* is back! I missed you, **Gene**. Let’s see, I already posted about porridge. Hey, I have some fortune cookies in my purse! I was at a party Saturday night, and the theme was The Year of the Cock. Definitely adults only. But there were lots of fortune cookies and I grabbed a handful and threw them in my purse. I’ll tell you the fortunes when I come back from lunch so we can \ over them. ---

Wow. One of the companies at Mr. Lissar’s work gave us a big chocolate egg with Crispy Crunch bars inside. That’s cool. In other news, I’m hungry and my desk is about to overrun the apartment. I think I’ll ignore it, mop the floor, and then have breakfast/lunch/afternoon snack before work. Ignoring is hard work. Maybe I’ll eat the chocolate egg for energy. ---

They’re going to have to roll me out the door today. I came in to see they are celebrating the birthday of one of our corporate icons. Which means cake. I wanted the cake - so I had a piece. We had board of directors meeting today. We’ve taken to preparing lunch ourselves as opposed to takeout stuff cause, well, it’s cheaper and it tastes better. Today we had tomato aspic, roast pork loin, lima beans, steamed baby carrots, cornbread dressing with gravy (my contribution), rolls and key lime pie. I am a full bear right now. We started doing all the preparing ourselves last September. You’d be amazed how board attendance has picked up. We’re good! I’m sleepy. I need a nap. Wonder if I could close my office door, say I’m on a conference call and get away with it. **Tuppy** you’re tornado watches came right from the Gulf. Mine came from Alabammy. It wasn’t my fault.
