That is over the top. Too severe. The tOSU football program is spotless (Maurice Clarette was just a blip). Why is the NCAA making a sacrificial lamb of Tressel and tOSU? We all know that if tOSU gets caught cheating it is Cleveland State or U of Akron that are suppose to take the fall. If you haven’t figured out that this post is dripping with sarcasm then I will give you a clue: IT IS!!! ---

Damn, sentenced to a seminar at a resort! He’ll never get over it. My two cents: The NCAA will always be a corrupt organization until they discard the farcical concept of an amateur athlete playing for a revenue-generating enterprise. Either the players should be paid, or schools shouldn’t be allowed to make money off of them. ---

On the off chance you’re serious, the only solution that would solve what you perceive as the problem is abolishing interscholastic sports. ---

They should have suspended him from the Sugar Bowl. Games next year don’t mean crap. I hope OSU and the NCAA choke on their ill-gotten gains. ---

My favorite is the NCAA has a right to a players image forever. They sell your image to a sports computer game and you get nothing. How can that be right? You can watch yourself play a game on Nintendo and get zero. Yea, and subjecting Tressel to such a humiliating experience means that the NCAA can go light. But still, Cleveland State and Akron are sweating bullets. If tOSU had any real integrity Tressel would have been summarily fired instead of sending him to a seminar. There are a few places that would have fired him, not too many, but a few. ---

I’m pretty sure he’ll eventually be fired over this–by the end of this coming season at the latest. The fans have turned on him. Urban Meyer (gag) just bought a house in Columbus, too. ---

There are still plenty who think he’s a wonderful man being persecuted by the media and the evil NCAA. There was a letter in the Columbus paper the other day comparing Tressel to Jesus. O.S.U. can’t fire Tressel for awhile without looking even more venal and foolish than it already does. Memories are too fresh of that news conference where the university president prostrated himself before Tressel and said he hoped the coach wouldn’t fire _him_. If the team does something shocking like going 8-4, _then_ public pressure will probably be enough to get Tressel fired. ---

Give us all a break. Tressel should have been summarily fired. He’s a cheat that lied and tried to cover up. It’s hard to believe that there are those out there that are making apologies for him like the dittoheads in the link. Tressel: go to the pros where the playing field is more level and then prove yourself as a coach. Don’t go on as a “college” coach, cheat your way into success and call that you legacy. This situation is almost cut and dried. I would love to hear the defense. Tressel is no different than Bruce Pearl. Even UT that is at the bottom of the academic and sports athletic ethics totem pole had the guts to fire Pearl. tOSU is still running scared. Shame on them. Shame on the tOSU, the B10(11) and the BCS. To all of them, try to elevate yourselves above the level of pro wrestling. ---
