Not likely.
For who?
Rasheed’s deal is up. He’s unrestricted.
Kapono got traded to the the Sixers for Evans today:
How did this screeching child get onto the court? That was like a bad American Idol audition. Learn how to pronounce your vowels, kid…amd learn how to sing in key while you’re at it.
4 point play for Kobe. Pretty cool.
http://www.thenation.com/doc/20090622/zirin I now have to root for the Lakers. I hate it. Devos is such an asshole.
Orlando shooting damn near 80% and barely managing to keep up with the Lakers, jesus. Kobe’s “make every damn shot no matter how good you defend me” style is a whole lot scarier than Mr. “put your shoulder down and plow to the basket and hope for a foul” Lebron.
Sooner or later, somebody’s going to miss, right? Is this the ABA finals?
It sure makes for a fun game though.
Not complaining; just figured the law of averages would have kicked in by now. I was wrong.
That’s probably the best shooting half the Magic will have all series and they’re still only ahead by 5. I don’t see how they can keep shooting 80% for the whole game. I expect Kobe will step on the gas even more and the Lakers will take control in the 2nd half. They just took th best Orlando had to offer and it barely mde a dent.
Sure the Magic can’t do much better than that, but Kobe has been shooting lights out also, theres no more “stepping on the gas” to do when you are already making every single shot.
What a freaking horrible call on howard, that was a jump all.
Well, congratulations. The Magic played the game of their lives and they barely managed to squeak out a 2 point win with a lot of help from the officials and some cold 2nd half shooting by the Lakers. They avoided the humilation of a sweep. Well done. The series will still end in 5.
Hah. “Help from the officials”.
Yeah. That was cute. I wonder if he was watching the same game as the rest of us.
I’ll note that, while shooting 63% and barely winning is indeed troubling, Orlando also made all the clutch plays down the stretch. Pietrus and Howard tag teamed for the steal that turned into a two posession game, provided free throws were made, and Pietrus, not a good free throw shooter in his own right, made the pair. It’s hardly luck to close out a great team in the last minute of a game: it’s composure and talent. And better rotations from Coach Child Predator helped.
They caught a break that LA’s shooting went cold in the second half, and they did get help from the officials. I think some of you are wearing blue and silver glasses. Howard got away with a couple of charges, and at least one goaltend. The Magic also travel all the time and hardly ever get whistled for it, especially that shambling lummox, Turkoglu. It seemed to me like the stripes got pissed at Kobe for giving them a stare after a non-call, so they started being douches to him all night after that. Remember that ticky-tack offensive foul they called on him for barely touching the rookie with his elbow?
Still, the Lakers get the calls at Staples. Home cooking in the post season is just part of the game. The NBA wants to extend every seriesas long as possible. Orlando won, like they were supposed to, but it wasn’t exactly a dominating win. This is a game the home team is supposed to win by double digits. They played at their absolute best and still only hung on by a single bucket. That has to be very encouraging to the Lakers. I think LA really ony wants one win in Orlando anyway.
Pretty much everyone who contributed to this thread and isn’t a Magic fan agreed that the Magic have been getting the shaft from the officials. If there’s someone wearing colored glasses it ain’t us.
The only egregiously bad calls i noticed this last game were the non travel on Pietruss (although he was intentionally fouled right before and they missed that one also) and the foul when Kobe went up against Howard and got blocked that should have been a jump ball.
