Actually, no, I didn’t just them all as ZOMGHOMOPHOBIA and that was my point I made quite a few times in this thread.
Lemme review for all of the lame pile-ons that are adding nothing to the conversation.
The Salvation Army’s position on GLBT community is homophobic. Their current policy as well as their legal battle in NY are two major examples.
However the Salvation Army does do worthwhile charity work at the same time.
Giving to the Salvation Army is not de facto homophobic.
Giving to the Salvation Army solely because of their homophobic policy is homophobic.
MPB’s donation to the Salvation Army was partially as a reaction to this thread (that is homophobic) and also partially because MPB consistently donates to that charity for other reasons (that is not homophobic).
Target has a good track record towards GLBT community including work place inclusion, same sex benefits, giving to community charities etc.
Target does not have a perfect track record based on the HRC’s rating of 85 and items like: giving as large a donation as possible to extremely homophobic candidate Tom Emmer.
Like the Salvation Army which has a good track record towards helping the less fortunate and Target which has supported the GLBT community, these are not perfect entities and neither are above scrutiny. Neither are sacred cows.
Yes. Hilariously, it will also lowercase all of the text in the quote box, meaning that technically the board software has run afoul of the “don’t change user text inside quote boxes” rule.
