Actually, on some other UBB boards I’ve seen the number of posts by the user and their registration date appearing under their name in a thread. ---

How do you make that funky sunglass smiley? Hey! Looky there. Right above the “Show Signature” checkbox, it’s got a “Disable Smilies in this Post” checkbox. And there to the left of the reply box is a “Smilies Legend” link. I like the old “big grin” smily. I don’t like the flames either – and they mean it’s an open thread with more than 15 replies? We could already tell that - if it didn’t have the little padlock on it, it was open, and the number of replies are shown. sorry, but I don’t see where the flames are a help. Is this “form over substance”? – give 'em some fancy-schmancy graphics and the teeming millions will be thrilled? Not me. ---

Ay, the little flamin’ folders are cute as a newborn, but I can see they’re goin’ to get old really fast. If it’s to go up fer a vote though, I say the little animated smilies get dumped into the sea with all due haste. I swear I’m havin’ nightmares where I’m being chased about by evil little ‘Pac-Man’ figures with maniacal grins . . . Overall, a fine effort folks, and much appreciated.
