The Pit thread has evolutioned into an entirely different topic. It happens. That’s how conversations work. Meanwhile, though, the cat piss incident has gotten lost in the scroll. So this is going to be a thread just for that. Now, here’s the scoop: Our White Trash Neighbors got arrested again for their fightin’ ways. This isn’t unusual. However, 3 cops cars and a crime scene unit van is. So I went to the Gothlings to tell them to check it out from the porch (we are all infinitely fascinated by the WTNs). Turns out, several things were going on at the Gothlings. One, no one had bought new cat litter in a few weeks. They’d scoop (which would reduce the smell), but then it would get nasty again within hours. Now they have new cat litter (they seem to have gone to Costco- the box is freakin’ huge). Hopefully this will help. Also they have been giving friends/ acquaintences cheap perms/colours/ whatevers to make $$ under the table. This probably added to the chemical smell. I saw the big ass trash bag of hair crap on their porch, it is legit. They are going out of town later this month and I am watching their cats. If a meth lab is indeed there (which I now highly doubt) I will obviously find it. Resolution: these gothlings are lazy are sticking it to the man by doing hair under the table. New issue: house smells of feces. Not because of gothlings. Dam devil children backed up entire apartment complex sewage. Roto Rooter came. EMPTIED THE CLOG IN THE DRIVEWAY. At least 20 lbs of poo and poo water. Today poo smell is rising up from the parking lot, as it bakes in the sun. Apartment complex owners fail to care. Devil children have been bouncing their balls in the poo water. Guess the Devil children won’t be much of a problem for much longer. Mmmmm… dysentary. ---

I’m a little puzzled by what you said in the fourth paragraph. Do you think that the 3 cruisers and the CSI van were a precaution on their part because of the information that you gave them? Even though it involved a different set of neighbors? ---

White Trash Neighbors ARE NOT the gothlings. Two entirely different sets. WTN live in a building behind ours, which is also a junkyard. They abuse each other, shoot of bottle rockets, and generally cause a ruckus most days of the week. Cops are out several times a month, arresting various partners. Sometimes they have the K-9 unit go in, and they sit out in the junkyard with guns drawn. I may not live in a very nice area of town… ---

Well, it’s a good thing **tinkleberry** isn’t living next to a bomb, anyway. A sewage treatment facility, maybe, but I guess we have to look on the bright side… Heck with it, I agree with **ETF**. You need to pick up one of those apartment-finder magazines next time you’re at the supermarket. ---

I’m really glad you have _almost_ found out nothing bad was going on! I still feel bad for contributing to the hijack in your last thread, but I’m not stupid enough not to know conversations DO evolve into other things from time to time. 😉 I was really worried about your new baby and of course you and your SO. I hope you are able to move to a better area soon, your neighbors sound like real treats. Exciting things happen though when you live around questionable people, we have a few of those in our neighborhood too! ---

I dunno, those cats can be sly operators at times. Maybe you should have them give you urine specimines for testing. Glad that you’re apparently not living next to bomb, but trying to figure out why the smells comes and goes, as you originally stated in the Pit thread. Stanky litter box is a constant odor that doesn’t vanish like burnt toast when you open a few windows on a breezy day. ---

I’m with **kaylasdad99** and **ETF** on this one. You have to move. How you could put up with your present living situation–even without being next door to your friendly neighborhood meth lab–is beyond me. Especially since you’ve got the baby and all. Isn’t having the tinkleberry enough stress for you as it is? ---

I’m betting the **inkleberry** clan would love to move, but I see she lives in the bay area. It’s a real bitch to find housing here which is both affordable and not surrounded by asstard neighbors. Mr. Pug and I live in an attached home which shares a wall with a pack of noisy, clueless imbecile gang members, yet we can’t afford to move. A home comparable to the one we already own would cost $700,000! ---

We originally took this place because it was close to the BART (mass transit) and bus lines, as well as two major highways. We didn’t know about the White Trash Neighbors, as they tend to be active and rowdy at night. We are planning on moving back to the Penninsula in August, which has less transport, is more expensive, but is less, uh, gritty. ---

It’s baaaaaaaack. What can I say to them and how do I bring this up politely? They are nice kids, but DAMN, do their cats smell. And yeah, distinctly kitty pee. Built up from a whiff a few days ago to now giving me a headache and making my throat hurt as I type. You’d think the smell would make them sick, wouldn’t you? ---

People can get used to the foulest of smells. My guess is that they are not using the best of litters. One time I grabbed the generic, non-clumping, non-odor control cat litter at safeway, and I couldn’t believe how quickly it just _stank_. There was no way to remove the pee (the clay just sort of absorbed it-- changing was the only option). The more I scooped, the worse the amonia-ness got. Good litter can last all day (assuming they don’t have too many cats per boxes) without stinking. Bad litter will smell little better than them peeing on the carpet. If your neighbors are not keeping the litter clean, the cats may actually BE peeing on the floor/wall too. I would suggest a polite, short, anonymous note. Something like: “Just wanted to let you know, odors from your appartment that you may not be aware of are disturbing other tenants. Your attention to this is appreciated.” ---
