On the one hand, the smilie controversy certainly takes the heat off of Tuba’s fuckup, doesn’t it? On the other hand the [First Smilie Movie](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=865667&postcount=34) sure takes on a different tone. ---

Well, how were the dubious and Wally smileys imported? Certainly, if it’s not _too_ much effort, they could be added in manually? Mind, I don’t know how much trouble it would be. And, yeah, that new grin-smiley is just way too toothy. I _will_ say that I feel the surprised smiley to be vastly improved. ---

You had _caves?_ In my day we had to nestle in the crooks of trees on the savannah, and Og help you if the leopards wanted the same crook! And you flamed people by burning up their entire tree, with (ideally) them in it. Don’t like 🆒 smirking. He’s too cool for that. :o just confuses me. ---

This is just one of the many things that I find interesting about the Dope. No matter how small, we can take a discussion on the unpopular merits of smiley decor and turn it into a great debate. 😃 Yes, I’m pro-Fonzie. 🆒 All he needs now is a Harley. [I would’ve put in his trademark expression too, but I wasn’t sure how it was spelled.] Plus, an advocate for the Zen twins of good and bad “Oh shit!” -dom. :o ☹ And for the record, they’re fine by me whichever way we go. I’ll adjust soon enough. ---
