That reminds me of one of the older Questionable Content webtoons.

Background: The QC world is a variant of our own timeline where AI’s exist and can have themselves loaded into robot bodies becoming AnthroPCs. One of the main characters, Pintsize, is a bit of a perv.

I think that was a pretty obvious unspoken theme in Asimov’s novels … it was unspoken, wasn’t it? I haven’t read them in a while.

(I have no idea what “Bulterian Jihad” means.)

Sexbots will be obsolete once holodecks or dream control come online. You can then kiss most real life fucking goodbye.

> Females just want to ban sex robots because they will lose all their power in society if they can’t deny men sex

This is my thinking, but at the same time I don’t ‘think’ the proponents of banning sex robots are the same ones who want to ban prostitution, which also reduces the power of sex over men.

In between MP3s, digital videos, online forums, video games, etc. most of us have already kissed the real world goodbye. People spend most of their time in virtual reality (albeit a very limited version that only affects sight, sound and cognition).

> By 2050, robots are going to be everywhere, says futurologist Ian Pearson, a consultant at the UK company Futurizon who, tellingly, also goes by @Timeguide on Twitter. They’ll be our coworkers, our domestic servants, and, according to Pearson’s new report commissioned by sex toy company Bondara, our robot friends with benefits.
>
> But they won’t be the waxen Real Dolls of 2015. “You can theoretically buy robots now. They’re not very good,” Pearson tells Inverse. “They really fall far short of a proper sex robot.” The missing components aren’t better silicone orifices – although those are coming too, he says – but the right simulacra of emotional and sexual intelligence. Once we can talk to robots, and they talk back and synthesize our emotions, the shoe (and skirt) drops.
