Yeah, I’m getting tired of hijacking the ATMB thread. Plus I know you guys are just itching to prove your immorality by treating me like shit, so here’s a thread where you can do so. Fortunately, xash is not a mod, so I can Pit this here. It is fucking stupid to circumvent a feature of the software because people are too lazy to scroll up and grab a previous post–and yet they’re going to be not lazy enough to edit down really long quotes. Sure, that make sense. I’m just royally pissed that there was not even a discussion. Nobody even bothered to convince those of us against it that the good outweighed the bad. And crap in the pit shows that it doesn’t–too many of you guys are just as lazy as I predicted. I just got through quoting a three deep multi-quoted post where the person just put a smiley at the end. Yeah–that’s going to go away. Gah. this is making me too mad. I’ll be blocking this thread for a while. As pissing me off is a bad idea. I was restrained in that ATMB thread a while back. ---

As someone noted upthread, an administrator is a mod, only with additional powers. Any discussion of the actions of any staff member – mod, admin, or Ed himself – who is acting in his or her capacity as a staff member belongs in ATMB, so I am moving this thread from the Pit to ATMB. **twickster** , moderator ---

To summarize: The Powers that Be should take into account the preferences of the people who use the board when they make decisions. Unless most of the people who use the board disagree with **BigT** , in which case the Powers that Be should only take into account the preferences of the minority who agree with **BigT**. ---

Although he has no official standing here, meaning that he’s not getting any of the boatloads of mail that float around on the mod loop, he still has access to admin-level buttons to push, in recognition of his long-time status as a mod and an admin (both of which are very much appreciated). Knowing that he could still function as an administrator, I didn’t think to check the title under his username. Despite his lack of title, however, he was in this particular instance functioning as a member of the staff. For that reason, I still think this forum is the correct place to have this discussion. ---

As I said in the other thread, Xash’s new job in meatspace does not permit him the luxury of spending much time here on the board so he gave up day to day administrative/moderator duties. He can pop in from time to time to assist on technical matters and we are glad and grateful for what he can do to help in that department. He’s not available as a full time moderator or administrator so he’s not listed as one, but he does serve occasionally in this highly specialized function. I can’t imagine why anyone would find this objectionable – he does good work and makes things better around here. ---

I don’t know how the merge function works (does it append posts or zip them together chronologically), but given the identical subject matter and the likelihood of relevant posts being made to just one (e.g., Tuba’s description of xash-status there and Twickster’s here), should this be merged into the original thread? It made sense in an intent sort of way to have two threads (ATMB and the Pit), but as it’s been moved it’s superfluous. (Or is there a chance it can get moved back?) ---
