In a world where drawing muslims in satirical cartoons results in terror attacks, it’s really not a good idea to go plopping them willy nilly into fiction that has all powerful beings that _aren’t_ Allah around every corner. ---

There are several comic books featuring Muslim characters and supernatural powers. In any case, I quite like the premise that humans on Earth have gotten beyond religion. ---

OK, I’m persuaded. A low-key Muslim, happens to be Muslim but not Salafi. A sort of counter to the identity politics of Arab nationalists, hardline Salafists, and anti-Muslim types. It could work.
