I had never seen video of Alex Jones until John Oliver’s recent piece on him, and was surprised by how hokey and contrived his “angry rant” was. Not only was he clearly just playing a character, he was _really bad at it_. No casting director (who ever wanted to work again) would dare hire him to play the part of “Alex Jones,” because nobody would buy it. And yet… People who take Alex Jones seriously are the progeny of those who grew up believing pro wrestling is real. We let them reproduce, and now we’re fucked. ---

They’ve been saying that for years. Pretending Sandy Hook was a conspiracy so they wouldn’t have to have a dialogue about gun control was their bottom (after all, if Sandy Hook didn’t actually happen then there is no need to discuss assault weapons and how easy they are to get). Nothing they do after that surprises me. ---
