New? I was hearing that shit from a Trumpist over a year ago. While he was sleeping on my couch, because he got a DUI, lost his driver’s license, and his girlfriend kicked him out of the house for constantly hitting on her friends. It was before he got fired for repeated sexual harassment, though. Come to think of it, he’s the only hardcore Trumpist I know…maybe that’s why I think so little of them. He told me I could make something of myself if I put my mind to it - while I was rocking three jobs, bought my house, paid off all my student loans in little over a year, and built a fucking boat, Gibbs-style. ---

I’m slightly addicted to reading the comments on online news articles, despite the fact that they always make me want to weep for humanity, and I’m pretty sure this has been a fairly common slur against Michelle Obama for _years_ in certain circles (i.e., the ones where her name is spelled 0bummer). I’ve always assumed it came from some combination of racism and “well, if you like gay / transgender people so much, you must BE one” playground taunting. ---
