Prohibition was not a right-wing movement, nor was it a left-wing movement. It was a marriage of convenience between a bunch of lunatics from the fringes of both sides.

I know that, but my point was that non-support of Prohibition wasn’t a sign of being left-wing.

And it wasn’t necessarily a “lunatic fringe” movement either.

Qin, I suggest you become acquainted with the concept of hyperbole.

Or work on your sarcasm recognition skills.

I was responding to the idea Huntsman is totally unsuitable as the nominee because of his “liberal” tendencies when in reality the man is _very_ conservative. Ten years ago he would’ve been considered solidly in the right wing of the Republican Party. However, because he is willing to trust scientists on topics like climate change and evolution, has indicated support for civil unions among gay people and worked for Obama, among other things, he is viewed as a liberal Republican.

Go back and read posts #4, 9, 12, 14, 15, 16, 19 and finally #31 for an idea of where I was coming from at the moment. And keep in mind I probably had a couple glasses of wine in me at the time.
