The Next Iron Chef, season 4: The Super Chefs

I’m pretty happy overall; I would’ve been happy either way but I can understand why they picked GZ. By the way, not that I could ever afford to eat in one of his restaurants anyway, but in honor of his win, he’s offering 10% off anything with one of his Facebook statuses in 2 of the restaurants.

Are any of his restaurants in LA? Actually, do any of these 10 chefs have a restaurant in LA? Besides NY, we’re the next biggest market and I’ve been dying to try some of these super chef’s foods

Both his restaurants are in NYC. Elizabeth Faulkner’s from San Francisco, and I think she was the only contestant from California this time.

Chiarello does business in California, does he not?

:smack::smack::smack:

Yeah, well, he doesn’t count since I don’t like him (no, I’m not buying it either.)

He is indeed in Californ-i-ay wine country.

I knew it was going to be Samuelson or Falkner. I have never been so happy to be wrong.

When Zakarian spoke about the special 6-panel judging in one of the episodes, likening it to The Last Supper, then saying, “and I should know because I cooked for the Last Supper,” I think I fell in love. Nice self deprecating humor there; he’s less arrogant than I thought.

Alex seems softer too, watching her on Chopped now.

After Zakarian was on Celebrity Chopped, and had to see firsthand what the contestants have to pull off in a limited time, it seemed like he mellowed out somewhat when he was back to judging. Alex didn’t compete on Chopped and so she didn’t get that same experience until Iron Chef.

I wonder if she had the same kind of epiphany: “holy crap, it DOES suck have to cook leg of lamb in 20 minutes and then get criticized for it!”

Back in the middle of December, no one took this prediction seriously. Considering how well I predicted Next Iron Chef, maybe I was on to something. Still can’t get the lotto numbers, though.
