I think you’re talking about not having to type into a computer any more, and that would an enormous leap for sure.
But I think most people have noticed that they don’t have to push buttons many times when they call their ISP help line or their health insurance company. “English. Member. Benefits. ABC1234567.”
I can’t say what the next revolutionary invention would be…if I could, I’d be rich.
I think we’ll start seeing mind-bending stuff when large scale nanotech becomes more commercial. (DLP TV’s would be a good example of the fledgling field. A chip with several hundre thousand mirrors, all on pivots, move to turn light pixels on and off…several hundred thousand. In a chip that’s about an inch and a half diagonal…and they all move…but more than that, they move 60 times a second and will do so several million times in their life.
