I’m sure you understand that there’s a difference between a guy on the internet predicting that it’s so unlikely that it probably never will happen and the major league organizations themselves saying they’ll prevent it from happening, even if it’s possible.

I am not so sure he understands this, sir.

The [Bob Feller Museum](http://bobfellermuseum.org/pages/bob-feller-biography/) refers to it as a windmill windup, which is how **Telemark** phrased his question.

[Feller would sometimes bring his arm completely around like a windmill](http://www.shelbycountytx.com/magazine7/level2htm/REMFellerBob1.htm)during his windup, although evidently not in the actual delivery.

> Given time to practice and adjust, I’m sure major leaguers would clobber Jennie Finch. But if she pitches to major leaguers who haven’t played high-caliber softball before, she may embarrass many of them. She often has.

Finch would get clobbered by men who play high-caliber softball. Those same men couldn’t make it in major league baseball.

> Miggy Cabrera undoubtedly could LEARN to cream the pitches of top female softball pitchers- he just couldn’t do it cold. In the same way, he could probably LEARN to wield a mean cricket bat, but if he went up against a halfway decent bowler cold, he’d get embarrassed.

Oh, this I do not doubt. One hitting skill does not instantly transfer to another.

If Miguel Cabrera joined a good _slo-pitch_ league, amazing though it might sound, he’d struggle a bit his first few games. Hell, I can even tell you HOW he’d struggle; he’d be pulling the ball foul or popping up by swinging early, opening his hips way too early. It’s just not the same skill. By his third game he’d be hitting a home run every time up - he’d just have a rough first game or two.

The hitting disciplines are similar but different enough that they take some getting used to.

I undersand it fine. It’s just laughable any time either scenario is brought up.

I was half kidding, anyway.
