I’m sure you understand that there’s a difference between a guy on the internet predicting that it’s so unlikely that it probably never will happen and the major league organizations themselves saying they’ll prevent it from happening, even if it’s possible.
I am not so sure he understands this, sir.
The Bob Feller Museum refers to it as a windmill windup, which is how Telemark phrased his question.
Feller would sometimes bring his arm completely around like a windmillduring his windup, although evidently not in the actual delivery.
Finch would get clobbered by men who play high-caliber softball. Those same men couldn’t make it in major league baseball.
Oh, this I do not doubt. One hitting skill does not instantly transfer to another.
If Miguel Cabrera joined a good slo-pitch league, amazing though it might sound, he’d struggle a bit his first few games. Hell, I can even tell you HOW he’d struggle; he’d be pulling the ball foul or popping up by swinging early, opening his hips way too early. It’s just not the same skill. By his third game he’d be hitting a home run every time up - he’d just have a rough first game or two.
The hitting disciplines are similar but different enough that they take some getting used to.
I undersand it fine. It’s just laughable any time either scenario is brought up.
I was half kidding, anyway.
