Does the Dean call many people sweetie or is it more of a personal thing? Two of the teams which sit close to mine include a woman with my same extremely unusual firstname. A third interacts a lot with a woman with that same name. I keep doing all these double takes …“blahblah Nava”/“uh? oh. oh, it’s not for me”/“blahblah…” ---

**Happy belated birthdays, Ruble and BooFae!** Thanks for the note on the tongue, **gt**. I’ve heard that it’s good, but I’m still slightly wigged out. It just seems like it’s going to be a weird texture. Yay on the good job news, **Soapy** and **Rebo**! I have good job news too: I had my annual review with my manager today, and she and now-VP (who originally hired me) decided that I should get something extra (Sucking up really \*does \*work! 😉 ), so I’m getting an 8.7% raise, effective in my paycheck on Friday! Woot! Drinks on me! This means that in the 4 1/2 years I’ve been here, I’m up 38% from my original salary! Yowza! :eek: They like me. They really like me! 😃 I suppose I should get back to work then, huh? Except a really cute guy just walked by, and now he’s talking to Manager. In a Scottish accent. That’s hot! ---

Hello Mumpers, ya’ll don’t know me yet but i do love to read here. Happy birthdays to all! Do we have any mmpers that are familiar with heart healthy diets especially as it concerns blood thinners? Hubby is three years since an aortic valve replacement and just had an afib attack. I have searched the archives and found some useful info but would like more info if it’s not too much trouble. He got a pig valve so he would not have to be on coumadin forever but the Afib requires it for a month. Not looking for medical advice just your experiences. FCM–got a recipe for those nanner muffins ? Swampy–gonna try that chikin sallit. I am a Jawjin also–Macon. be kind. I don’t have any friends. / / ---

Hi **FedUp**! I don’t know about heart issues specifically, but I really like the healthy recipes at [101cookbooks](http://101cookbooks.com/). I really really like the buttermilk dressing in [this recipe](http://www.101cookbooks.com/archives/buttermilk-farro-salad-recipe.html), although I made it with wheatberries instead of farro and grape tomatoes and corn instead of the other veggies. I use skim buttermilk so it’s just the olive oil, which is really heart-healthy, that contributes fat. And, if you eat tofu, [this recipe](http://www.101cookbooks.com/archives/black-sesame-otsu-recipe.html) is really really good. I’ve used regular sesame seeds in that instead of the black ones (I’ve tried it both ways.), and it still tastes good. And I substituted almonds for the pine nuts because pine nuts are so expensive. So in other words, I get ideas from that website and substitute. But it’s always really tasty! 😃 ---

**Fed Up** , take a look at the Meatless Mondays site. It’s in the links list over on the [Mumper’s Blog](http://mumpersrecipes.blogspot.com/). I just added it the other day. ( **LiLi** I added it for you because you were asking about veg recipes in your Lent thread; I haven’t made it back to that thread to say so, however.) Some of the recipes are a bit odd, but some of them sound interesting and some of them just sound really good. **taxi** , one of my Mexican aunts served us tongue for lunch one day without telling us what it was. It was really yummy. No texture issues at all. It’s very tender and tastes really good. Happy Birthday, **BooFae**! Had book group tonight. We read _Tinkers_, which is difficult to read, but short and very interesting. I need to read it not in a rush, since I know I missed lots. It’s published by a little press based at Bellevue Hospital in NY and won a Pulitzer. It’s the one of the few works of fiction they’ve published. It is a coincidence- all day long I have been trying to remember a phrase I read on the dope a year or so ago. I think it was in the “Jimi Hendrix Was Murdered” thread. Anyway, I convinced myself it was “Shine On You Crazy Diamond”. Tonight on Facebook a friend posted Pink Floyd playing “Shine On You Crazy Diamond”. I had no ida it was a Floyd song, and had not opened this thread to find out it touched on a Floyd song.
