I lost a $50 bill at a yard sale once. I hope whoever found it gets a sharp rock in their shoe. Every day. For the next 50 years. I see lone shoes and gloves all over the place around here, but what really draws my attention is the pairs of shoes, laces tied together, hanging over power lines. Someone had to have taken the time to repeatedly throw them up there 😕 …I don’t want to meet that someone. ---

I’ve never found anything very interesting I’m afraid. Some kind of wire cutting tool that I still have. Once I found a gas cap that looked just like the one from my Mother’s car. Turned out it was, she had left it on the roof when she filled up at the gas station. And I also found a small plastic light just the right size for Mom’s ceramic christmas tree which happened to be missing a light. However this time someone else must have lost one because it was a different color. ---

I found a finger in a wrecked Olds Cutlass. Kind of creeped me out. Gave it to the county coroner, he said he would keep in a spare parts box in the deep freeze. He offered me a tour of the morgue. I declined. ---

Of the best things I’ve found. - $100 bill on my birthday when I was 16. - several wads of cash in the 40-60 dollar range. Odd bills. - 2 media cards. One was a 128mb Smartmedia card from a camera which contained pictures of what looks like a family on vacation on Gilligans Island. The other was a 256mb Secure Digital card which sadly doesn’t work. - a CD of some REALLY nasty porn. - a bag of some of the best weed ever. There was a fair amount as well. Of course I didn’t smoke it… heh heh. I always check my bills and change and set aside some neat finds. I have a nice print error $1 bill, a bunch of star notes, various silver coins, old coins, error coins. I bought a roll of Kennedy half dollars from the bank. Turns out all but one was 1965, 40% silver. My mother used to raise quail and one day decided to have a dinner party. Ten quail were sent to the chopping block. I cut off all their feet, put them in a bag and left them in various places around town. So, if someone here says they found a quail foot on a Metro Bus or in a paperbox,. that was me. 🙂 ---

Walking past a Blockbuster, my ex and I found just under 40 bucks. I remember thinking “damn, someone just went to the ATM, paid for a movie and dropped their cash.” And it was an amount that was just high enough to be annoying. We went in to talk to turn it in to the cashier in case anyone came back looking for it, but then we realized, “wait, we know that WE have integrity, but that kid behind the counter might just keep it.” So we left a note with the skinny kid behind the ocunter, and figured if we didn’t hear anything in two days, we’d put it in our piggy bank savings for our raod trip. About an hour later, a really surprised woman called us from the video store. She was amazed that anyone actually had the decency, to leave a number. So we went back, gave her her lost funds and earned some good karma points. Sniffs\_Markers ran into a similar dilemma when she found a credit card sticking out of an ATM. Not trusting the bank tellers, she called the 1-800 number on the back of the card, let them know she’d found a lost card, and they thanked her and cancelled it immediately. _Then_ she gave it to the teller with a note to let the owner know the card was cancelled. The owner called her hours later, sounded really suspicious and _worried_ at first, but then relieved when Sniffs said the card was cancelled the second she found it. Sniffs said she sounded young and really scared that her card had been used. Weirdest thing I ever found was the skull of a dog though.
