I’m all excited at the opportunity to add [strange and gruesome objets d’art](http://odditiesandcuriositiesexpo.com) to pep up our tired home furnishings.

Expecially intriguing is the promise of quack medical devices. Who wouldn’t want a [Battle Creek Vibratory Chair](http://museumofquackery.com/devices/k-chair.htm) in their living room (works great to revive intestinal peristalsis), or a [Quantum Harmony Rife Machine](http://zapperstore.com/rife-machines) (kills off bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites and mites, though I’d be careful using it around small dogs).

At the very least, some of this stuff should make for a memorable Halloween display.

I’m about two hours away from the closest location, so I think I’m going! I need more weird things in my life.

We went way, way back in 2019 when it came through San Diego and it was pretty interesting, tho I think the mix of vendors can vary quite a bit from location to location. A few vendors who seemingly buy things from Hobby Lobby and spray paint them black, but most of the vendors had really unique stuff and the artists were fun to talk to.

I don’t know if we’ll go again this year but it’s definitely worth seeing at least once!

You can find lots of oddities and curiosities in the Design Toscano catalog.

They have a bewildering array of furniture and household accoutrements in styles going back to medieval times, often in execrable taste. Don’t miss their [extensive selection of gargoyles](https://www.designtoscano.com/search.do?query=gargoyles).\*

\*admit it, you’ve always coveted a gargoyle that’s scratching its butt or picking its nose.

There’s a group that puts on something called [Oddmall](https://www.oddmall.info/)here in the Akron area. I think it’s similar to what the OP is talking about but maybe on a smaller scale, and leans a little more towards comic books and geekery, but there’s definitely plenty of bones and chain mail and bloody dioramas.

I go every year and it’s really fun!
