I’ll come up _if_ I can manage to bum a ride, at least from Manhattan (I can take the LIRR into Penn Station), if not Long Island itself.
If it happens that I can get a ride, I’ll check the thread to see what’s needed in terms of food. And don’t worry tooo much about accessibility, yet. If I can make it, we can panic then. 😉

Excellent. Things are shaping up nicely. Although we’re a little dessert-heavy and still need a few more side-dishes/salads/breads and whatnot. Some fruit salad, anyone?
Here’s what we got so far:
**Definites**
DAVEW0071 – three adults, cookies and two pies
RTFirefly – one adult, maybe two, side dish TBA
Gorgon Heap/Acrylic Vessel – two adults, side dish TBA
tkeana – one adult (?), homemade brownies
MsRobyn – one adult so far, chips and “mun-cheez”
FriendBill/HelenWheels – two adults, macaroni salad
Eutychus/the honked-off Persephone – two adults, side dish TBA
Biggirl and Co. – Four adults, beer
Beerchick – one adult, side dish TBA
MannyL – one adult, a dessert-type thing
**Definite maybes**
Cosmopolitan – one adult, side dish TBA
rjk/zyada – two adults, Texas-style barbecued maple sugar
Since I haven’t heard from **zyada** , I’m counting her as a definite maybe, but I think she’s more of a definite. She needs to check in here herself.
**Cosmopolitan** , as I’ve said, if you can get up here, that would be great. We’d love to have you. My biggest concern for you is the loo. Completely wheelchair-unfriendly in approaching it, and rather small to boot. I say this not to discourage you from coming, but to spare you embarrassment. That being said, we’re Dopers. We can rise to any challenge.

That’s one disadvantage of **Cosmo** being wheelchair-bound; she can’t “skip to my loo”. (Stop throwing things! )
The wife is looking probable for this trip. And I think our side dish may be her famous Black Bean Salsa. It’s really a side dish that you scoop up with chips, rather than a dip.

Wow, that sounds like a blast. Maybe we’ll be able to take a cross-country train ride that week or something. We were planning to visit during the summer anyway. If we don’t make it, we miss you guys!

Okay I’m checking in. I’ll be bringing a fruit salad, some veggies to grill, and at the request of **biggirl** a red bliss potato sald just crawling with germans. I’ll probably make sone other stuff too since I love to cook but just don’t eat it all anymore. I’m down about 50 pounds since last March and seem to be holding steady. Yea for me!🆒

This is going to be an event, indeed.
And more so, since I got some real good news today.
I service a restaurant where I’ve become friendly with the owner; a young guy who’s very friendly, and he likes the work I do for him.
So he and I got to talking about this little shindig today when I was doing his service, and we got to talking about prices for a slab of spare ribs.
Well, the long and short of it is that he told me he was willing to pimp the ribs for me, ordering them at the wholesale price he gets. WHOLESALE!! With no kickback! He gets his deliveries every Thursday, which is perfect for a Saturday barbecue.
Folks, this reduces the price-per-person by _ **half!** _ I was initially going to request ten dollars per person. But now it’s five. You can’t beat that with a stick and a jackhammer, boys and girls. Five bucks for ribs, beer, soft drinks and all the sides and desserts you can eat. And the company of Dopers!

**Place** : _Casa Dave-Guy_. Please let me know if you need directions, and from whence you are coming. I am easily accessible from the NYThruway, the Palisades Interstate Parkway, the NJTurnpike, the Garden State Parkway, and the buses from PABT and the GWBridge.
**Cost per Adult** : Five bucks.
If you have folding chairs or lawn chairs, you might want to bring them.
**Those with small fry, please note** : even though the grounds at _Casa Dave-Guy_ are small, there is an elementary school within walking distance, so any wee bairns who feel the need to clamber on playground equipment can be easily accommodated. **Mrs. Dave-Guy** likes nothing better than hauling kids around and taking them to playgrounds.
