# The official RibFest 2004 Thread

**The day** is Saturday, June 26, with brunch for the hangers-on Sunday, June 27.
**The place** is the swelling grandeur of _Casa Dave-Guy_, located in the idyllic suburbs of New York City.
**The menu** is baby back ribs, slow cooked and smoked on my excellent charcoal-fueled grill. We’re talking four-to-six hours of gentle heat and flavorful smoke, creating sumptuous, fall-off-the-bone ribs, flavored with my homemade Jack Daniels barbecue sauce (which, as the cognoscenti will tell you, is to die for). That, and whatever side dishes people sign up for. Plus soft drinks and beer enough to float a regatta.
**The cost** is to be determined. I won’t be relying on my Rib Pimp from last year, and I know prices will be rising as summer approaches. But I’m thinking no more than ten bucks per adult. But we’ll see.
**The guests** … well, that’s up to you folks. Sign up here and let me know what you’re willing to bring. (But please, fairly small portions. We had way too much left over last year.) If you’re going to be in the NYC area that weekend, come on by. There are reasonable overnight accommodations, not far from the Garden State Parkway and the New York Thruway.
Last year was a blast. We all had so much fun, so if you were at the first RibFest, y’all come back. And if you weren’t, here’s your chance to par-tay at _Casa Dave-Guy_ and enjoy some scrumptious food.

We’re now up in the air. Airman’s status is a bit dicey right now, and I hesitate to make long-range plans, especially those plans which may involve my driving in New York State. [sub]But we don’t talk about that little unpaid speeding ticket.[/sub]

Green Bay, Wisconsin.
No, seriously, I live in Pearl River, which is in Rockland County, a mere 30 minutes from the George Washington Bridge.
Very easy to access from the Thruway, too. Saratoga Springs isn’t _that_ far away…

If I can get a ride from someone who’s coming in from either Long Island or Manhattan, I’m there. Any volunteers? I’ll come up with the best directions that I can.
FYI: I can travel to any point on the Long Island Railroad Babylon line, up to & including Penn; I can also then cab it to someone’s place from Penn. Only thing I cannot do is, apparently, get off in Brooklyn, as there don’t seem to be elevators at the Flatbush or Nostrand Ave. stations.
I’ll also look into some kinda train transportation thingy, if I can get there from NYC by train.

P.S., They now have an elevator from the LIRR to the street at Flatbush. It works. . . sometimes. Construction closes it down all the time.
