Being that St. Paddy’s day is around the corner, I thought to start a thread on the music.

It wouldn’t be St. Paddy’s day without listening to **The Cheiftans**

[Green Linnett 25th anniversary](http://www.greenlinnet.com/shopping/search_detail.cfm?ProductID=1005)

There are many more that I am drawing a blank on and have to go through my collection.

I’ll be spending St. Pat’s at a little pub, enjoying the music of [Seelie Court.](http://www.ilevel.net/seelie-court/main.htm) Playing elsewhere locally that night, [Dan Marcotte](http://www.bardsong.net/) and [Molly & The Tinker](http://www.mollyandthetinker.com/).

If you’re in the New York area, see if you can find out where [Hair of the Dog](http://www.hair-of-the-dog.com/index2.html) is playing and go see them. They’re outstanding. Also on the East Coast, [Seamus Kennedy.](http://www.mcnote.com/seamus/)

Planned for my CD player for the week:

The Chieftans
Van Morrison
Blackmore’s Night
The Corrs

Gaelic Storm
Mary Black
The Fenians

Enjoy many mentioned, grew up on The Clancy Bros., adore the Chieftains.

Like the **Saw Doctors** as well as the **Young Dubliners.**

But I especially love **the Pogues**.

I saw a group at a small Renaissance Fair last summer. They were called **The Starkravens**. They sang and played Celtic music and danced too. I bought their CD and really enjoyed it.

They even have a website: [www.starkravens.com](http://www.starkravens.com)

I’m guessing they are mostly a local group.
