So, about 3am this morning my wife woke me up and asked me to get her some painkillers for a bad headache (our 4 year-old had crawled into bed with her so she was stuck between us). I stumbled out to the kitchen still 3/4 asleep and reach up to get the container we keep medication in when ‘splat’ something else tumbled out of the cupboard and hit me in the chest (I just wear boxers in bed). A near-full bottle of blue food dye that had been put away without the top on properly had emptied itself across my left chest and all the way down the left side of my body. :eek: Luckily almost all of my interesting new pigmentation is covered up by my work clothes. Need coffee and lots of it. ---

I sometimes make almond-flavoured cookies, and to spice them up I sometimes add food colouring. I find it usually takes a few days for all the food colouring to disappear from my skin, no matter how many times I wash my hands. I end up looking like a kid’s art project. ---

True story. When my wife was in hospital after having our first kid the woman in the bed next to her had tried something like that. Their kid was overdue so they decided to take a drive on a bumpy road to see if they could ‘kick-start’ things so to speak. Apparently it worked but they also got a flat tyre (on a country road, on a rainy day, in an area with only sporadic phone coverage). A passing motorist gave the husband a ride to a place where he could call an ambulance and then took him back to their car to wait. 😛 ---

Our neighbor Pretty Boy, a.k.a. in the Plant household as “PB” killed the family cat last Winter because he did not notice that it in was in the dryer when he turned on said device. The fellow takes the trash out in his plaid boxer shorts, and the ladies in the neighborhood all get up at six Ante Meridian to observe, but I digress. He eagerly described getting a new cat to Mrs. Plant (v.3.0). She tells me that is was very difficult to not ask PB if they had named it “Bounce”. ---

I got not quite two hours of yard work in before it started raining in earnest and drove me inside, so I took a nice long nap. Not at all a bad way to spend a day off, IMHO. ---
