I’m not saying that trump is the anti-Christ, but Christ is for sure the anti-trump. ---

You ever read the Bible? There’s this guy in there, Jesus? Everything Jesus is for, Trump is against, and everything Jesus is against, Trump is for. If that doesn’t make Trump an anti-Christ, I guess I don’t know the meaning of the world ant-Christ. ---

Jesus spends most of his time talking about loving your neighbor, healing the sick, helping the poor. I guess I’d have to fall back on that Colbert quote on this. Jesus told you what to do and they should just admit that they don’t want to do it. And one of my new favorite bible verses, not just for what it says but for the numbering; 1 John 4:20 _If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen._ ---

There’s is nothing magical about claiming to follow “Jesus” (which wasn’t the guy’s name) that either forces you to follow his morals, or even to know enough about him to know what his morals (or name) are. In view of your latest post, I want to point out that you too are cherry-picking the bible to support what you choose to believe you should do. You simply are less of an asshole than the people who use Jesus as justification for choosing to be assholes. ---

If you want to call yourself a Christian but you don’t believe in what the guy preached, you may as well call yourself something else, because you aren’t actually a Christian. You can still be a Christian because no matter what you do, declare yourself saved and forgiven and everything resets until you sin again. ---

I’m not saying that there aren’t eleven separate verses in the bible that say to love your neighbor. I’m saying that within the other thirty-one thousand verses that are _not_ saying to love your neighbor, people have found ways to endorse all kinds of behavior that, despite you apparently not liking, are still justified using the exact same justification you are using, and which are thus as legitimately Christian by the logic you yourself are using. The bible is great for justifying damn near any behavior - _except_ the behavior of claiming that other people aren’t able to find justifications for their behavior in the bible. ---
