Look - We’ve all been exposed to The Donald long enough to know that if he had wanted to imply that Kelly was targeting him due to PMS or whatever, he would have said that. Subtlety is not this guy’s strong suit.

Hate to defend the Trump, but I think a person’s public statements should be viewed in a favorable light if there’s some ambiguity. It’s too easy to have a slight misstatement or slip of wording and have that torn to shreds.

Of course, I suspect many of the people insisting that Trump just misspoke are probably the same ones insisting that Obama thinks there are 57 states, but you can’t fix someone else’s problems.

I agree that it’s entirely possible that this was just a terribly mangled metaphor.

That is not relevant, of course, to whether **Starving Artist** has actually heard this colloquialism or anything like it before.

I agree that he wasn’t intentionally referring to PMS. But his poor choice of words left it open to misinterpretation. He’s already shown himself to be both an ass to anyone that crosses him, and a vicious misogynist. It’s one of many times he would be better served by apologizing, but he can not. He never make mistakes, and saying sorry is only for losers.
And he’s not the only one who refuses to ever apologize. The GOP standard now is anything less than 110% certainty that you’re right, always, weakness is conceding anything, compromise of any kind is untenable. It matches Trump’s existing personality. He’s the epitome of certainty.

My grandfather used to say about being certain: it’s being wrong at the top of your lungs.

Since reading **Senegoid’s** post I’m inclined to think it was in regard to the Ebola virus that I’ve heard the phrase before…as I already said, btw.

And I take it you haven’t seen the video to Henley’s song. It’s about terrorists (Molotov cocktails) and rebels…i.e., angry wild-eyed pistol wavers who ain’t afraid to die.

Having said that, it’s always it’s fun to see you guys ignore the most salient points of a post critical of your side, and focus instead on some inconsequential aspect you think you see a flaw in and act like that’s all there was to the post.

Neither you nor **Snowboarder Bo** have spoken to my response to **Bridgett Burke’s** silly post, in which I asked why Trump’s insults were supposedly proof of Republican sexism but the “cunt”, “slut” “whore” “bitch” insults hurled at Sarah Palin and her daughter by the left weren’t. You have to admit, they’re either both indicative of sexism and Republicans are no worse than you guys…or they aren’t and Republicans are no worse than you guys.

**Bridgett Burke’s** assertion was that Trump’s relatively mild insults aimed mostly at Rosie O’Donnell were indicative of sexist attitudes supported by me and other Republicans. I’m asserting that if insults toward women are proof of sexist attitudes, then the left is just as bad as the right.

The truth of course is that the idea that insults toward individual women are sexist is nonsense. Men get insulted all the time too, but that somehow gets ignored by the self-appointed social justice warriors on the left.

Jabs making fun of women in general are sexist; jabs against certain women for their behavior as individuals are not.

This is Trump’s MO. Roger Stone was his campaign guy, he resigned on, say, Saturday and before he did (or when he did) he sent out his resignation letter to a bunch of people so it was time and date stamped.

Trump came back and said that Stone was fired.

So, yeah. Same douchy behavior.

I agree with this. Of course, I don’t think “it’s just the horribly mangled babbling of a semi-senile old coot, he wasn’t talking about menstruation” is much of an excuse for a presidential candidate.

No, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Many things that Trump says off the cuff don’t make a whole lot of sense, when examined closely. Trump is a typical bully who never quite graduated from playground insults. His ace-in-the-hole barb is “so-and-so is a loser.” When he strays from that and tries to get creative with his abuse, he says stupid shit, because he’s really not all that bright, at least when it comes to improvisation. The man behind the curtain is pretty much a dunce with access to good self-promotional tools, and it doesn’t surprise me one bit to learn that you’ve got stars in your eyes over his carnival huckster shtick. At least Trump has never (at the time of this posting, to the best of my knowledge) facilitated the serial buggery of children, so I guess you’re making progress of a sort.

I’m not Trump expert, but just judging from his Wikipedia page Trump doesn’t _have_ a complex business empire. He owns some big-time real estate and a ton of brands related to his celebrity status. He buys properties and sells Trump-branded perfume. These days the most lucrative part of his empire is apparently licensing his name out to other developers, a “business” that is, in any event, run by his kids.

He has indeed parlayed his inherited millions into more wealth, though it’s hard not to see it as largely luck. By 1991 he had nearly thrown away the millions his father gave him. With some good bankruptcy lawyers, he was able to get back in the market during the longest peacetime boom in decades and in real estate in a resurgent New York City. I suspect if you’d had a few million to throw into the real estate market in NYC in 1991, you’d probably be a billionaire too, **Starving Artist.**

Mitt Romney was apparently a very capable businessman, if a ruthless one. Trump reads more like a rich kid who made some lucky bets. I would be surprised to learn that he is respected for his business acumen in the business community. The people I know on Wall Street, at least, regard him as a hack.

Are you nuts?

I listen to Hugh Hewitt daily\* and he gave Trump roughly 20 minutes asking such hardball questions as “Are you mad at me for saying you don’t have a presidential temperament?”

And that tongue-tied, inarticulate moron, even _with_ crazy-ass softball questions, A) couldn’t answer coherently and B) couldn’t get past the fact that Hewitt said (on Meet the Press?) that Trump’s temperament was not presidental. He wasted about 10 of his 20 minutes frothing about that with wildly unsubtle threats.

Last time he was on Hewitt, Hewitt asked him about the nuclear triad. Trump was a perfect 50/50 mixture of stupidity and bluster.

> [@From the actual transcript of the show](#):
>
> HH: Now let me ask you about the American nuclear triad… Is it necessary anymore, Donald Trump, is it affordable?
>
> DT: I think one of the most important things that we have to worry about is nuclear generally speaking. The power of nuclear, the power of the weapons that we have today and that is by the way — the deal with Iran — the concept of it is so important that you have to make a good deal and what they should have done is that they should have doubled up and tripled up the sanctions and negotiate from strength instead of the pathetic negotiators that we had so anything that we had to do with nuclear to me the power of the weapons — the problem is that it is not how many soldiers you have, the power of weaponry today is is utmost important.
>
> HH: Do we need all the three kind of nuclear weapons that we have though?
>
> DT: I think we should have absolutely have — you know we are going to have to build ourselves back up because — I don’t know if you saw that 60 Minute piece about a year ago where our nuclear weapons are so absolute and so outdated, the phones didn’t work, the wires were rotted and frankly to allow that to actually go on television where they are giving tours of places of silos and they are rusting and rotting and I’m Putin and I looking at that I’m saying I’m saying, “Wow these guys don’t have the power we thought they had.”
>
> HH: But do you think we can afford to to just update one of the three legs nor do we need all three of them like the Cold War?
>
> DT: I think we need massive protection and unfortunately you know the nuclear is the protection It’s not just the question of having a million soldiers nowadays. You need the protection because North Korea has it, the deal based on everything that I’ve seen as you know Iran is gong to have it, Pakistan has it, India has it. Hopefully, India is on our side a little more than most but people are getting it and Russia has it big league and China has it, but you know, Putin said about a month ago and I was shocked to hear it — first time I’ve ever heard it from that kind of a power. Essentially he said don’t mess with us, we have nuclear weapons. Do you remember that?
>
> HH: Yep.
>
> DT: Why would somebody say that from that kind of country?

Notice he doesn’t actually answer…or even _understand_ the question. He just blusters a lot and drools out words that are only vaguely linked together.

This man is a lucky-sperm club winner who’s barely coherent and too stupid to be allowed to tie his shoelaces, let alone be involved in a grown-up debate. And if Hewitt hadn’t attached himself, remora-like to Trump’s ass, he would have shredded the toupee-wearing moron. (Hewitt seems to think that if Trump is still in it when the next debate occurs, which Hewitt just happens to moderate, the ratings will be through the roof.)

And before you accuse me of being a liberal, I’ve voted since Reagan and voted Republican consistently. I’ve never voted for a Democrat for president in my life. And I’d vote for Hillary before I’d vote for Trump. And I can’t stand Hillary, either on a “likability” level, an “honestly” level or a “competence” level…but even with those handicaps, intelligent and more importantly, she’s _sane_, unlike the drooling mental defective you’re championing.
\*Because he gets great guests. Hewitt himself is turning into a weasel.

There are none so blind as they who will not see.

The guy has built multi-billion dollar fortunes twice, and he did it the hard way by spotting, capitalizing and building upon various business opportunities. He deals on a daily basis with highly educated hardball playing lawyers, bankers, venture capitalists, architects and contractors, as well as local, state and federal politicians and agencies. He may or may not mostly be in the licensing business now (and if he is I certainly never heard of him divesting himself of the many famous properties he’s owned and/or built) but he built or restored many successful office buildings, hotels and casinos on the way to that licensing business.

Ivana herself has complained that you can’t win with him, that he’ll always find some way to outsmart you. And we’ve seen that already, where he turned the disclosure of his cell phone number into a campaign tool, and we’re seeing it again where he’s got the Fox network kowtowing to him in the aftermath of the debate while simultaneously putting Megyn Kelly on the defensive.

If you guys want to continue to kid yourselves that he’s stupid, knock yourselves out. I’m not going to spend the next fifteen months (or however long he’s in the running) trying to convince you of the obvious. But you ruin your credibility and expose yourself as mindless partisans with every such claim you make.
