I don’t like **Led Zeppelin** that much, but I gotta give em props - they knew how to rock out at times. And that kick-ass drum beat the Beastie’s sampled in _Rhymin’ and Stealin’_.

I may hate Barry Manilow, but we both like jazz.
The Grateful Dead often serve as a gateway to introduce people to music that is much better than their own.
Avril Lavigne is less annoying than the Spice Girls were (I know, damning with faint praise.)

A lot of “smooth jazz” musicians were great session musicians.
Avril Lavigne and I share French ancestry (and, possibly, French-Canadian ancestry).
Michael Jackson had one great song IMHO, “Don’t Stop 'Til You Get Enough”.

“Bandages” by Hot Hot Heat. When I heard this on the radio for the first time, I thought it was a new Cure song, and that, “Damn, The Cure sure are Rockin’ these days”. Well, I later found out who it was, so I bought the album. FUCK…this is the biggest piece of shit album I’ve bought since the Buttholes’ Electric Larryland. “Bandages” still rocks though. If I was Robert Smith, I’d sue the bastards:dubious:
