The Rockford Files: “White On White And Nearly Perfect”. Tom Selleck’s proto-Magnum exasperates Jim Rockford at every turn…classic!
I agree as to the X Files episodes mentioned, but I always liked best the one with the sullen Goth genie rolled up in the rug who keeps giving out wishes that go awry.
For the original Star Trek, “The City on the Edge of Forever,” of course. The granddaddy of great TV time-travel stories, with a killer of a moral dilemma.
For TNG, the one where the ship keeps blowing up and the Universe resets after the next commercial break (;)), and they finally figure out what’s going on.
For DS9, “In the Pale Moonlight” is very, very good, but I’ve always had a soft spot for “Take Me Out to the Holosuite,” where Sisko and his crew take on an all-Vulcan baseball team.
For VGR, there are far too few excellent episodes to choose from, but I’d pick the one where there’s a bridge between two Voyagers in slightly different universes, and Harry Kim crosses over with an infant.
For ENT, I wish I could pick one. But they all sucked to one degree or another.
For The Simpsons, the one where Mr. Burns learns that he suffers from virtually every disease known to modern medical science.
For Seinfeld, either “The Contest” or “The Soup Nazi.”
For Frasier, the one with Niles’s wedding(s).
ER - “All in the Family”
It’s the episode after Carter and Lucy get stabbed by the crazy patient and the entire episode centers on carving Kellie Martin up like a Thanksgiving turkey.
I don’t care much for Kellie Martin and I really hated the character of Lucy, so I enjoy that episode despite ER having jumped the shark several seasons prior.
Red Dwarf - Polymorph.
I love the whole series and every episode makes me laugh. But the scene with Lister trying to get his shorts off still makes me laugh like a loon.
“You’ll BONK anything, wont you Lister?”
God, I love that episode.

I thought the point was to convince people to watch the show. I think that’s the episode that made me stop.
