I’m using someone else’s money? That makes it easy.
I’ve done this; twice, actually. When I got divorced and had to get my own place I didn’t want to spend too much time picking up furniture, so I picked up a couple of catalogs, picked out a picture of a room I liked, and ordered everything in the picture. Both companies deliver furniture exactly where you want it, so I went from having literally nothing to having a fully furnished apartment. I have a room that’s entirely Restoration Hardware and another room that’s entirely Crate and Barrel (and I mean entirely–rugs, lamps, furniture, etc…all directly out of the catalog). Not very creative, but they both look good (and because they change the catalogs so often, no one knows what my inspiration was)
Is The Money Store still in business? I’ll happily decorate with large stacks of cash.
How about one of those places that buys broken gold jewelry? If one would just pour the melted gold into molds the shaps of tables, chairs, etc.
OTOH, I wonder where the Enron guy found the diamond encrusted shower curtain? That sounds like it would be an interesting place to shop.
Me too. I want the Royal Master Searchlight!
Amazon, or if online stores are not allowed, Waldenbooks. Interior decorating consists in buying enough bookshelves.
Yeah, I have practically done One House/One Store at IKEA.
Here’sone I love, too, in Columbus. gotpasswords, they carry Stickley and a whole lot of other stuff too.
Bingo. It’s the one national chain store I’d choose, provided a few ‘single location’ botiques and antique shops aren’t an option.
Yay! Scan Design, here I come!
Maybe Design Within Reach, www.dwr.com
Easy! CostPlus World Market.
What was the high-end store they often went to in Top Design? I want that one.
I am now wondering if your house looks identical to mine…
My vote goes to IKEA.
Definitely either Cost Plus World Market or Ten Thousand Villages.
Dear lord yes. I remember having my nose to the big window of their store in NYC… would’ve gone in and oggled better if they’d have been open.
Most of my furniture is Mission style, just not from them. My sideboard is a simpler version of this one, actually.
