Got up early this morn to take care of one of my rats. I heard him wheeze a few times in the last few days, so he gets meds twice a day for 2 weeks now. Rats get this quite a lot so I’m used to it, but it’s still a bit of a pain. I’m on the couch now with all four rats while they play. My wife is still in bed, but she should be up soon. ---

Very calm here. The dog has found a deer bone; he’s glad. The cats go in and out and in; they don’t like the snow on the soil. Soon I’ll stand up and go bring more wood in the house for the stove. It’s very warm next to the wood stove; the chairs next to the stove please the cats. ---

I got up not too late. Did some desk work. Played card games with wife, sons, and quite nice niece and her fine spouse, whom we all like, and who came to see us from a state down south. Took nap. At night, had a nice meal out with chum. Fine steak; good drinks. Then I went to a drug store and bought some things for which I had a need. One of the things was a tube of soft white stuff to keep my teeth clean - the brand is Crest. Back at home, I checked out the Dope, and this thread, which is new to me. I like it a lot. Off to bed now. Good night! ---

I slept like crap once more last night. It’s been like this for at least a week, the jet lag is just that hard to get rid of, ya know? That’s when I got back from a place in the far east part of the world. Well, _the_ far east place. The name? You know you’ve heard of it. I’ll give you a hint; that’s all I can do, as their name is too long for this thread. The hint: They eat a lot of rice. Shit, I guess that’s not much help. Want another hint? Here ya go: They like to eat raw fish, too. A lot. Get it? That’s a thing they are well-known for. My wife and I like to go there, but our flesh and bones pay a big price each time we do. First-world problem, I guess. ---

I give blood. I am terrified. I faint when I see blood. I do it anyway, despite my fear. One day that life-saving pint of blood may be mine. And it might save my children. I donate stem cells and bone marrow. I am so scared, but really, it is not that big a deal. But, shit, I am scared. ---

You boofed the rules of this thread, but let’s not stress on that. I used to give blood, back in the day, when I was a young dude full of vim. Then a few years back, my doc told me, “your spleen is trying to kill you. It eats your red blood cells. We’ll have to cut it out of you.” So cut it out they did. I’m fine now, but the doc said no to more gifts of blood. Also, when I was the most sick with low red blood cell count, they had to give me some blood. It could be that it was yours! Thanks! ---

I’m still sick. Grrr. Not as bad as last night, though, and I’m off work. I’ll chill for most of the day, then at night I’ll drive north to meet up with old friends who I see each year – but first I’ll warn them of the germs, just in case they want me to stay home.
