Briefly, there is a £1m bonus for any horse that wins three top races in the coming jumps season. There were, and possibly still are, uphill motocross races where nobody ever reached the top of the course. Chances are that some of them offered a special trophy that’s never been awarded. ---

Am I the only one who was wondering why anyone would be winning eating utensils in a sport? ---

In context, I think that “silverware” just means trophy. Or possibly only trophies made out of literal silver? Or maybe all precious-metal trophies? OK, so I’m still a little confused. ---
