# The Orville - anyone else watching?

It’s great, but being advertised badly. It’s not the broad sitcom that I expected but more like Star Trek if it was treated like MASH. It’s pretty awesome.

I’m posting here, as the other thread is too far along for a first-time watcher.

I’ve been recording the show, as Mrs. L.A. isn’t interested, and she says I can watch my shows ‘any time’. Except ‘any time’ does not include when I’m working, or when she’s home from work. So I only watched the first episode Saturday. My thoughts:  
[ul][li]I had some good laughs.[/li][li]I could see how some people would roll their eyes at the stock characters.[/li]The thing where Seth MacFarlane and his ex-wife get back together was completely predictable from the beginning of the show.[/ul]

It is more like a merger of ST-TOS with STTNG. It is awesome.

As for Discovery, I can kind of see something, maybe.
