now that they are _out_ of the NFC West, they are free to win as many as they please. (now, if we could just get rid of St.Louis…grrrrrrr) All seriousness aside, I find it firiggin’ hilarious that they do it with a damn near 40 yr old cast off from the Detroit Lions. I guess it just goes to show,some sick cats come back. ---

No Lib. We have not. There are certain clues which will give away this. Mainly, that the Detroit Loins are winless. Add that the Jets can’t seem to get it up, and APU, the Vickings sit in the pit of mediocracy. But, then again, the Rams are winless (cover me in fudge!)This is a good thing. ---

Jim Rome (sports show host, admittedly prone to exaggeration) calls the Panthers “the worst 3-0 team in history”, in part due to the fact that the three teams they played are 0-8. ---

I love this statistic. It’s so funny because of the very real possibility that it’s got cause and effect entirely reversed. Sure, the Panthers’ opponents are a combined 0-8, but if the Panthers hadn’t beaten them, they’d be 3-5, a far sight better. I’m just saying that amuses me. I do think the Panthers have a good shot at holding that title. They are terrible, and so are Baltimore, Detroit, and Minnesota. ---

Sometimes, it isn’t necessarily statistical talent that carries the day. There are innumberable examples, but the one that sticks out in my mind (aside from the famous Jets-Colts Superbowl game) was summarized by two covers from 1984 Sports Illustrated issues, the first with a picture of Theismann about to throw a pass, and a headline “Bring on the Raiders!”. The next issue had a picture of Squirek clutching his interception from Bahr’s kick, with the headline “Blowout!” 😃 ---

Boring. These [Panthers](http://www.parkview.net/mainmenu/extra_curricular/athletic/football/footballindex.html) are not just 3-0 this season but _undefeated_ champions for the last _two_ seasons. Wake me when your Panthers go two consecutive years without a loss. ---

It’s funny **ftg** just bumped this sucker, I was thinking about it yesterday. I noticed that another undefeated team has played an even _less_ talented slate of oppontents through the first three weeks than have the Panthers. Carolina has played Baltimore, Detroit, and Minnesota. The San Diego Chargers have played Cincinatti, Houston, and Arizona. What’s shocking is that that set of 6 teams might be the worst 6 in the NFL.
